Specifically what are our thoughts on this:

Somewhat incredibly, Florida has fallen all the way from 54 percent in 2014 to 37 percent now, easily the lowest they’ve been in a decade. The reason is the inability to land star players in 2014-16, with only 23 four- and five-stars among 70 signees. Jim McElwain shook up his staff, it paid dividends in the 2017 class, and the Gators are in line to sign an elite crop in the 2018 cycle. It’s Florida; the Gators should never be signing fewer star players than 18 other teams in a four-year period.

Recruiting is all about getting players that will produce. It is the lifeblood of a program.

Muschamp was always top 10 or top 5 in the SEC but still went 4-8 in his third year.

I could cherry pick our former players that were 3*s that were great and the 5*s that sucked. Not going to do that because we know who they are. I will say that I like UF's 2017 roster a lot more than the 2014 roster.

I agree with this, but I also agree that recruiting had to improve and it's obvious that the new hires helped the end of the 2017 class and the 2018 and 2019 classes are set to be even better.

I think we'll be back up over 50% by 2018 signing day. Mac is showing the ability to recruit blue chip guys now, and I think he's proven to be able to evaluate good 3 star contributors. I'm excited about the future.
