Mother of Charlottesville victim changes her mind on Trump after "watching news coverage"

Bro, who had thanked Trump in a statement on Monday for his "words of comfort and for denouncing those who promote violence and hatred,” said she was recovering from the "exhaustion of the funeral" Wednesday and did not return the White House messages.
She said her opinion of Trump’s response changed after she had time to watch news coverage of the Charlottesville protests after laying Heyer, 32, to rest on Wednesday.
"I hadn’t really watched the news until last night and I’m not talking to the president now, I'm sorry, after what he said about my child," Bro explained. "It’s not that I saw somebody else’s tweets about him, I saw an actual clip of him at a press conference equating the protesters ... with the KKK and the white supremacists."
She continued, "You can’t wash this one away by shaking my hand and saying, ‘I’m sorry.’ I’m not forgiving for that."

The power of our media ladies and gentleman. She went from thanking Trump for his words condemning all hatred and bigotry to watching the media coverage and completing changing her mind.

Her kid is dead.
She's emotional.

I guess trump killed her daughter

Everywhere you look it's people with power talking shite about Trump. A lot of it is probably just PR but it's gone too far. You can't even vocally support him without being called a fricking white supremacist now.

Lefties probably paid her to change her view.

He never said anything like that..they got to her

I'm not criticizing her. I'm pointing out the power of media narratives.

Nope, it's the power of the president's buffoonery:
quote:
"It’s not that I saw somebody else’s tweets about him, I saw an actual clip of him at a press conference equating the protesters ... with the KKK and the white supremacists."
The media didn't put those words in his mouth. He said them, and now he owns them.
I don't blame this woman one bit. She's lost a daughter and the fricking president is equating her dead daughter with the white supremacist nazis who killed her. He's trying to play politics and tiptoe the line between her daughter's "side" and the murderers' "side" because he doesn't want his nazi white supremacist base to turn against him. She has every right to be pissed off at him. Hell, we all do.

No, you don't because the man did not say it. He DID differentiate between the violent protesters and those of conscience.

He was a little over the top in touting the mom's "kind words" for him as well.

She didn't have that attitude until she watched the media coverage. If you don't see how their sensationalist, bogus interpretation and outrage influenced her perspective and attitudes, I don't know what to tell you.

You see, this is exactly the point. No he didn't. But you sure think he did because of the coverage and your own inclination to believe negative narratives about Trump.
So thanks for illustrating the point.

So a "base" that represents about .0001% of America got him elected?

Of the President's later words that said there were some "good guys" among the Nazis that killed her child.

CNN berated her when she wasn't calling Trump a racist hitler.

The poor woman lost her daughter and the whole world watched it happen. I wouldn't use her to prove a political point.

And somehow the media is blaming Trump.

Let her grieve any way she chooses. That's her right.
