We'll see but I think you're right, there will be a load who go to the next level. If LSU can close out the 2018 class strong with a good season, and we can load up on both sides for the 2019 class then our quality of depth should be where we need it to be to make some serious runs. LSU needs to start convincing kids to stay for their 4th year, if of course, they aren't first rounders. We need to start keeping some of these guys.

So that's 17 of 23 recruits. Not a bad class and it may be even more

So you think this class is on par with those early 2000s Miami classes? I haven't checked the numbers but it seems like that's what 17 out of 23 turning pro would be.

My guess is he's trolling, trying to bait people into disagreeing so he can accuse them of bash Coach O or not being real fans or something.

FTR: Miami had 11 guys drafted in 2002 8 in 03 and 9 in 04. If thats not the most by one school in a 3 year period it's close. I'm not gonna go back and look at their signing classes but I'd guess 17 would be pretty close to the most from one class from1 school. Predicting that from a class that wasn't #1 by a large margin seems like setting yourself up for disappointment

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Yeah, off the top of my head 17 out of 23 going to the NFL sounded completely unreasonable. That seems like that'd be one huge step towards creating the best college football team ever.

Yeah, I guess if we don't think that's possible we're not real fans.

You are as delusional as delusional comes.

So, his first class as Head Coach when he is trying to impress everybody, and he says its his best class ever....you don't say?

This was literally our worst class since 2012. And we lost 7 out of the top 10 LA recruits.

Keep pumping him up though.

This is just as dumb as him saying it's the best class because no one knows what the field results will be from this class which is what ultimately decides how good it will be. I'll bet money that in the end it isn't considered our worst since 2012.

Like something that's maybe happened once or twice at most unless we're counting guys that are on camp rosters for a summer. Some of these kids will play on Sunday but way to premature to say who and how many. Also saying Stevens because he can play WR and S shows how little he knows about the NFL.

The thing is only 50% of LSUs 5 stars signed since 2000 have been drafted. Only one of those guys you listed is a five star.

The higher rated the players the better the odds they get drafted, but just going off of recruiting hype never works out across an entire class.

For instance: 2014 5stars

1st round - Fournette
7th round - Malachi Dupre
N/A - Clifton garret
1st round - Jamal Adams

^ this was actually a good success rate, 75%.

If you include all the guy we were drooling over that we would have claimed were all going round 1 and bringing in 2 nattys:

Likely be drafted - Tony Brown
Undrafted - Speedy Noil
N/A - Gerald Willis

So the absolute elite level recruits have a 50% chance, you could easily do a write up about them being the best player in HS "long NFL career".

But to answer your question, I could see 10 or so of these guys getting drafted if this is one of those special classes. The average for the miles era was around 6 I believe with the most being 9 or 10 in 09. Only 2 I'd put Money on are delpit and chaisson, but more will make it for sure. I'd be surprised if it's less than 6

This post is legitimate. I agree with the talent level of this class. But injuries and grades and intangibles always take a toll. But make no mistake about it, this class is special. Only Tiger fans would bash someone for stating the truth.

I predict 73%. Like I said it could be more, could be less. Coach Eaux said this is his best class and he has been named recruiter of the year multiple times. I believe him, especially when you look at the player rankings per position.
I actually did check the numbers this time smartass and it's 74%.

This may be one of the most ridiculous predictions I have ever read on here. Are you really that blinded by your purple and gold glasses?

The only people stating the truth in here are the ones saying it's absolutely ridiculous to predict 17/23 guys will get drafted before they even play a down of CFB, which would make it the single greatest class ever. Could it happen? Technically, yes. But to make this prediction just because O said it's his favorite class he's ever brought in is just asinine.

It's a terrible thread. Seriously, only O pumpers would look at this class and say 17/23 guys will get drafted before they even play a single snap of college football. Get your head out of your arse.

Fact is, recruiting rankings are a pretty damn good indication on talent level. Sure there are busts and diamonds in the rough. Fact is, EVERY recruiting site has this as the worst LSU class since 2012.

Be naive if you want, but this class is no where near the talent level as LF7 and Adams 2014 class.

Also, our 2009 class was ranked #1 and widely accepted as one of our best classes ever.

11/25 play/played in the NFL.
