Picked up a bottle on a cruise for 15$. Anyone try, should I mix or drink straight. Any ideas

Appleton rum, coke and a squeeze of a lime slice is pretty tasty

Just mix with a splash of coke.

A good 12 year old rum should be smooth with only a cube of ice.

I did a tour of their distillery in Jamaica. Good times. The 12 year is good chilled on its own.

Orange slice, squeeze then muddle in bottom of glass, add a couple of ice cubes, 2-1 or 3-1 (depending on your taste) ginger ale to rum, few drops of bitters, stir, and enjoy.

If you enjoy this try Ron Zaccapa or Zaya just on a rock.
I personally think Zaccapa is the best rum regardless of price. This event includes the blue label Appleton I have that I never drink.

This is a sipper, although not the most highly rated. Ignore the mixing comments (coke ).

It will make an excellent rum cake. Yellow cake, crusted with chopped pecans mixed with a touch of brown sugar, liberal application of buttered rum glaze, allow to settle an hour or two.

I went to Jamaica for my honeymoon early this year and drank a shite ton of Appleton 12 on the rocks. It's delicious. Brought a bottle home.
