Looking for a book or short series for a road trip I'm taking next week. 48 hours total behind the wheel.

Little bit of background. I've never been a reader. Maybe have finished 3 in my life aside from the ones I've had to read for school.

Some help narrowing down.

im an outdoorsman. like the show game of thrones but didn't want to start the books because it was 200 something hours of reading. Florida native.

Just not even sure where to start looking.

you really need to use book words like.."Authors I like" "Genres I care for"

would really help..what you basically said was.."I need help with buying a new vehicle, I really like tires"

If you aren't set on fiction, Guns Germs and Steel got me through a cross-country move.

I have a bunch of different thoughts on good books but that's the only one where I've also experienced the audio version.

Fun stories with good narration:

Ready Player One
Red Rising (1 of 3) - Awesome narrator!
Blood Song (1 of 3)
Any Dresden Files Book
The Martian

I've never heard any narration on Sanderson's books, but I've heard they are good. Mistborn and Stormlight are my favorites.

Stephen Hunter Books with Bob Lee Swagger. One of them, "I, Sniper", was the source material for the Shooter movie with Mark Wahlberg. I've never heard narration for these either, but they are quick, fun stories.

Looking at
"A knight of the seven kingdoms"

And

"The world of ice and fire"

Having just watched the show and reading one of the books. Which of these books would be better? Or should I just stay away from them since I haven't read the other books?

I started listening to the Martian on my way to Destin on Friday. I read the book and watched the movie. I highly recommend the audiobook.

Look into the Jake Crosby series by Bobby Cole, also. It's a suspense series that intertwines hunting. 3 great books.

Anything narrated by Stephen Pacey. He really gets into the characters. Everything I've listened to that he narrated for Joe Abercrombie is amazing and a pleasure to listen to!
