The last three or four times I have ordered onion rings at restaurants, I've been pretty disappointed. Maybe it's just me, but has the novelty of a good onion ring gone down?

I prefer actual onion rings, not just small straws. What are some of your favorites?

Liuzzas has always had pretty good onion rings. Get them every time I go.

Good responses so far.

Liuzza's (Bienville) are the best.

Company Burger is solid too.

Besides Liuzza's, Mandina's is the most consistent option that I've come across.

Charlie's for the shoestring kind. Mandinas or Joey K's for the thick cut style. I like both types, depending on my mood.

Popeyes has always had the best onion rings. Can't believe those frickers switched to frozen. Al must be rolling over in his grave.

Not only do they do thick cut onion rings, but they give you thick cut battered and fried green peppers
