Can buy beer and wine after 12:00. (No liquor though) . Restaurants can serve whatever they want after 12:00.

There are some sad, terrible S towns in Mississippi where you cannot even buy beer on a Sunday, ever. And these are allegedly "wet" counties.

Not in Ruston anymore, but when I was there the day they allowed the liquor stores in Grambling to be open for a few hours on Sunday was the greatest.
Still no package Sunday sales for beer or wine & liquor period within city limits though, if I'm not mistaken. Thankfully when I moved up there in 2011, they had just started allowing sales at restaurants.

This sucks if you are going to a Chiefs tailgate and didn't stock up the night before.

I got shut down trying to buy a bottle of wine on a sunday afternoon in Monroe. Lady looked at me like I was the devil. Never heard of that with wine especially since they served it in church

no hard liquor on Sunday...
used to live in Monroe where it was no sales till noon, and across the river it was nothing but beer afternoon..
As long as I live, I will never understand these stupid arse laws.

I thought it was noon here on Sundays? Thats what that witch at Albertsons told me last time I tried before a noon Saints game.
Wish these religion laws would truly be trashed with that whole separation of church/state thing.

By far some of the most irritating bible thumpers I've ever experienced.

We have no limitations in my parish.
Maybe I don't understand this completely...but it seems that in states where the government controls liquor sales, limiting purchases on Sundays decreases their own revenue.
And why limit sales on Sunday in particular?

I have to go a county over to buy beer. Liquor stores are all closed. Only recently restaurants can serve it on sundays. It's some dranconian bs as far as I'm concerned
Texas?
Probably already answered, but did not read 3 pages.
Here you aint buying liquor on Sunday and no beer before noon. Some restaurants too. You have to have food on the table for beer to be on the table before noon. Which can be an issue on an NFL Sunday at a sports bar. Have had many a shitty basket of chips and salsa beacause of this.

this is by far the best aspect of living in south louisiana. bars open, no restrictions on sales.
Posted on 7/10/17 at 5:40 pm to SlowEasyConfident
At stores, no beer or wine sales before noon and no liquor sales period. This is statewide in Texas.

Bootlegger laws. Deal cut with churches after prohibition. Both win, you lose unless you know the bootlegger. Often was related to the preacher.
