You are in a private space though.
Ban smoking on all public places all you want.
Just accept you love big government. Embrace it like your progressive brethren.

Your argument is faulty because it glosses over the fact that smoking is a public health hazard.
Private business =\= public place.
It is not hazardous to anyone who does not accept the hazard.
If I watch some porn from a sketchy site and I get a virus, I don't get mad at the site, I get mad at my poor decision making skills.

There's that narrow, tunnel vision I love to see.

Restaurants should be able to have smoking sections (again). That's when America was great.

There is that backing away from the argument I love to see

How can they allow smoking anywhere in 2917? Disgusting 1950's behavior. Socially repugnant.

How old are you? Not even being a dick. This reply makes me think you are young. As a matter of habit and or tradition EVERY bar was smoking from probably 10-15 years ago on back to the invention of tobacco and firewater. A non smoker was given ZERO options. I dont know why nobody made a non smoking bar? Probably fear of bucking tradition. Bars NEED some regulars to get them through mid days and mid weeks. Regulars smoke by and large. Or they certainly did 20 years ago.
The option of a non smoking bar just wasn't there. The option was to stay home.

No one will force you to be around smoke, no one is advocating that smoke should be allowed everywhere
This times 1000.

Regulation was needed so you'd be more comfortable at bars? Jesus H Christ.
Posted on 6/25/17 at 6:39 pm to Salmon
Should private business be subject to any regulation at all?

This is past tense. The options are there now, and they are there naturally.
Ascension parish for example has not banned smoking in bars, but 80-90 percent of the bars in the area are non smoking. It happened organically.

I thought we said we would stop making extremist argument like 10 pages ago?

Smokers are the biggest POS outside of liberals
Posted on 6/25/17 at 6:42 pm to wildtigercat93
Not extremist, if Salmon believes in no regulation we'd never find common ground.
Posted on 6/25/17 at 6:43 pm to NIH
The argument isn't for NO regulation, it's against OVERregulation
Posted on 6/25/17 at 6:44 pm to wildtigercat93
That is pretty surprising, my experience with small town bars has been the other way around.
Posted on 6/25/17 at 6:44 pm to NIH
Yes, of course.
If you have to resort to hyperbole for your argument, you have probably failed arguing your point.

Well someone already pointed out the statistics earlier, doesn't matter where you go, the majority of people don't smoke. Most bar owners will decide to open non smoking bars.
Baton Rouge is similar as well, I don't believe there is a smoking ban, but smoking bars are few and far between

What kind of regulation do you believe in?

Tell that to the health department. Of course it's regulated.
