I really don't know what else can be said to convince you that historically vandy hasn't been close to LSU in recruiting. It is well known that historically LSU takes a backseat to few schools in the recruits they are able to sign, and certainly vandy isn't anywhere near LSU in that comparison. But go ahead and continue to insist that 2+2=5.

I don't know why you keep insisting that I think that isn't true.

Go back and read your posts in this thread.

You said that there are as many eyebrows being raised over LSU's class as vandy's, which makes no sense. I can NEVER remember vandy having a top 10 class, and we had one just a couple yrs ago with simmons & co. LSU has probably had around 10 top 10 classes since the late 70's, possibly more. (Dale was a GREAT recruiter, I just haven't gone through yr by yr to confirm.) I assume we are both tiger fans, lets just enjoy our top 10 program status we are about to experience over the next 15 yrs lord willing.

I said people would have just as much reason to, but you're close enough.

That's not an opinion, it's a fact. And it's already happening, as evidenced by this thread.

Meanwhile you've said the following things that are far from being facts:

- lsu's all time team is somehow related to the perception of lsu's recruiting success
- players in the NBA is somehow related to the perception of lsu's recruiting success
- it doesn't matter if a player is from Louisiana or the moon as it relates to the perception of lsu's recruiting successs
- there aren't 12 schools that can compete with lsu's recruiting success in basketball
- lsu getting 4 great recruits in 9 years is like the sun rising in the east every morning

quote:

which makes no sense.

It very much does actually, and the reasons why have been explained to you multiple times.

What you meant to say is "I don't understand why." because that is extremely apparent.

quote:

and we had one just a couple yrs ago with simmons & co.

Yes. And the only reason that class didn't rause eyebrows was because everyone know that David Patrick was Ben Simmons' godfather, and that's other players wanted to play with Simmons.

quote:

LSU has probably had around 10 top 10 classes since the late 70's, possibly more.

And somehow you think 10 top 10 classes in ~40 years, with the majority of them being in the earlier stages of those 40 years, is somehow indicative of a basketball recruiting powerhouse?

Apparently Wade wants a grad transfer. That would have to be a wing right? Wouldn’t really make sense to bring one in to play behind Reid, BW, and Williams

I KNOW one top 10 class every 4 years is better than THE VAST MAJORITY of programs in the country, and certainly better than vandy.(and it was at least 10, prob more). Funny how you put disclaimers on HOW LSU got these classes (ben simmons momma bought him a p&g diaper when he was a baby, so he fell in love with LSU), and how you don't realize a TOP 3 MOTHERBLANKING ALL TIME TEAM IN THE HISTORY OF COLLEGE HOOPS illustrates the ELITE players that have come through BR. Oh, and having more NBA players all time than most colleges? No indication of a recruiting track record at LSU. I am done arguing with the village idiot, good day.

Yeah, I'd imagine it would be someone that could start at SF, preferably a 3 and D style guy

Regular transfer or JUCO would make sense for a true big, a guy who would play here 2 years or not until 2019-2020 season.

I would definitely bet a wing or guard for graduate transfer.

Do you now? Let's see the proof of that. I'm sure it won't turn out to be just like your other claims in this thread about less than 12 schools having better players, the sun rising, etc.

quote:

certainly better than vandy.

Somehow you continue bringing Vanderbilt into the conversation.

quote:

I stated, correctly, that literally nobody was surprised by Ben Simmons choosing Lsu because literally everyone knew his godfather was an assistant coach. Sorry you can't handle the truth.

quote:

and how you don't realize a TOP 3 MOTHERBLANKING ALL TIME TEAM IN THE HISTORY OF COLLEGE HOOPS illustrates the ELITE players that have come through BR.

As I've already pointed out, a handful of all time great players over the entire history of the program does not equal basketball recruiting powerhouse. Especially when the majority of those players were from Louisiana and/or already had serious ties to the program.

quote:

Oh, and having more NBA players all time than most colleges?

As I've already pointed out, players in the NBA is not a direct correlation to a basketball recruiting powerhouse.

quote:

No indication of a recruiting track record at LSU.

One of the few correct things you've said in this entire thread.

I am done arguing as the village idiot, good day.

Wade is killing it.
Haters gonna hate.
LSU > Vandy in everything but academics.

LSU is actively recruiting Emmitt Matthews JR, a 6-7 SF from Tacoma, Washington. He once was committed to UConn but pulled his commitment when Kevin Ollie was fired.

Normally I would think distance from home would be a problem. But if he originally signed with UConn that clearly isn't an issue.

Naz Reid, Tremont Waters...I don't think distance matters as much anymore.

I’m naming my next kid will wade if he pulls this off.

This would be the perfect piece to complete this class and fill the void of Sampson leaving.

That article about Emmitt Matthews was written 7/18/17. About 9 months ago. Is LSU still actively recruiting him?

Yes, the article was written in 2017 however, I heard the kid on a Seattle radio station indicating that LSU was still recruiting him and that the assistant coach that left W State never stop recruiting him even when he commited to U Conn. I believe in the next day or two you will see Tiger Rag publish the story however, you are getting the scoop early.

Any update on Emmitt Matthews? I don't see him having an official LSU offer on any of the recruiting sites.
