Oakley. I've been wearing them since the 90s and they've always been my go-to. Over the years I've tried other brands -- Maui Jim, Costa, SPY+ -- but they're just not the same.

I really like these, lost mine last Mardi Gras. I need to replace them.

I definitely prefer glass, but the plastics still have extremely clear vision.

I'm with you. I just liked the style of the frames and all they offer it with is the plastic. My MJ's have both had superior clarity to anything else I've ever owned, but both were glass. Won't know much about these until I can wear them out.

You ever try the cosmetan glass lenses? They are amazing. My first pair were 55mm, but my last three have been 52s.

ETA: Is this obsessive?

American Optics is my new choice. They are made in America, they make sunglasses and other optics for NASA and the military, and you can customize your order.

I have the Original Pilots in True Color gray, black frames, with bayonet temples. They also come in three different sizes so you can get what fits your head.

Mine are similar to these.

My dad was a Helo pilot. The exact same pair he was issued by the Navy for 20 years.

I have not. Mine were true color gray glass, gold frames, and bayonet arms. Those look pretty sleek, I might grab some like that.

Cheers to your dad for his service!

Yeah man, I'm about to get a pair of the General 8 - Base for my wife. I've had mine a couple of years now and they are still like new.

They are expensive as hell and hard to find. They will send you a few pair in the mail to try on to see which ones you like. Keep the one you want and then they charge you.

Mauis for me as well. I like the Red Sands. I have a huge fricking head and they are the first pair of modern-style sunglasses that actually fit my face without tons of pressure.

I have a big head too; I wear a size 7 7/8 - 8 cap. I'll have to check out the Red Sands.
