I don't disagree. But I still think JJ was a good QB. I'd say about #7 on the list. After all, he won The Game of the Century.

I did. They had TV back then. One game on Sunday.

I would not have Russell on my team if we were picking up team sides.

I would go with any of the 6 or 8 guys mentioned over Russell.

In no way is Matt Flynn one of the 5 best qbs in lsu history. Jordan Jefferson has 2 seasons with a better qb rating than Flynn in 07.

1. JRUSS
2. Rohan
3. Bert
4. Mett
5. Hodson

JRock's 2006 season is arguably the greatest in school history. He would have absolutely destroyed the record books if he played on that 2007 team.

People let the success/failure of the player in the NFL cloud their memories of the player's college careers.

Ranked second all-time at LSU in career completion percentage (61.9) and career touchdown passes (52) ... Also ranks third in career completions (493) and career passing yards (6,625) and fourth in career attempts (797) ... Is just the fourth player in school history to go over the 6,000 yard mark in total offense (6,704 yards) ... Capped career ranked No. 3 in school history with 6,704 yards of total offense, just one yard shy of tying Jeff Wickersham for second place in school history ... Only the fourth quarterback in LSU history to pass for over 6,000 yards ... Connected with WR Dwayne Bowe on 23 TD passes which ranks the pair as the most prolific pass-catch scoring combo in school history ... Has engineered eight fourth quarter or overtime victories during his career ... Leaves LSU with single-season records in touchdown passes (tied Matt Mauck with 28), completions (232) and completion percentage (67.8) ... Is the only quarterback to lead the Tigers at least 10 wins in back-to-back seasons ..

Jamarcus Russell's 2006 season ranking in lsu history

Passing yards-2nd
Passing td- 1st(tied with Mauck)
Completions- 1st
Completion %-1st

He joined Hodson as the only lsu qb to make 1st team all sec ap and coaches.

idiotic.

Russell was spectacular at LSU. True, he failed miserably in the NFL, but that has no bearing on how great he was at LSU.

There is no arguably.

His 2006 season statistically is easily the best season in lsu history.
