The invisible hand guides workers to these jobs and causes capital to offer them.

Again, when did you realize pure capitalism is not the most desirable system?

I saw it. The piece on south Sudan pissed me off, too. People suck and we really need to pause from time to time to think about how fricking good we have it.

Go chat with the folks losing their jobs to legal and illegal immigration and let me know how you feel after that chat.

The following statement is absurd but it also has much truth, the people who have the power to make immigration policy or better yet ignore immigration policy are the same people who have no fear of losing their jobs to immigrants. If it was lawyers, college professors, CEO's, CFO's, COO's, politicians, businessmen, etc. pouring into the country the borders would be sealed in 24 hrs.

but I will say it's garbage they have to train the replacements. Which they obviously will do they get severance.

At least they are given the opportunity to get their severance. They don't have to do it if they don't want to.

I'm getting downvotes, but when I got laid off from my engineering job back in 2010 I didn't get a severance package. They paid me my last paycheck and that was that. If I had the choice to stay on a couple more weeks with pay and a severance package you bet your arse I would have done it. The whole time looking for another job.

It sucks losing a job, but there are worse ways that it could go down.

How do you define "pure Capitalism"...and what is your alternative system...what social/economic components is it made up of? Is there an existing system that has a common name that may best describe your view?

The whole h1b program is nothing more than a wage suppression scam by large corportations.

Bring in labor that isn't allowed to explore the free market so they can be paid 20 to 30 percent less...it's a load of crap.

Cartel activity to suppress wages.

Seems pretty sweet to me as a shareholder

Well, what is Trump going to do about it? Isn't he guilty of hiring H1B visa workers?

Was also mentioned. Was also shown he bitched about it during the campaign.

Hope he will help fix this nonsense.

Not everything needs to be some gotcha. Obama, Bush, or Clinton did shite about this fwiw

I will say I was pretty pissed when I saw 20mil of shite raided.

I actually thought the Sesame Street piece was good also. Props to 60 minutes on a good hour of reporting.

I must be getting old. My grandmother, a total conservative, watched that show constantly. I finally decided to watch a full hour and was impressed.

Actually that's not entirely true. The work visas are sponsored. If they try to switch companies their employer can pull their sponsorship, making them unemployable. They have no leverage for salary negotiations after they become trained and valuable.

We call them H1B indentured servants for that reason.

Importing an exploited underclass with government's assistance is not an example of free market captitalism.
