I just switched over to the LSU women's 1st round game, and there is maybe 300 or so fans there for an NCAA tourney game. I think the numbers are complete fudged, or forced, when they say women's basketball is the 3rd most watched college sport

It's probably the third most watched because it's on ESPN all the time. If you're saying baseball, I never see it on

That's my point. It is forced on us by being on tv

No way the attendance numbers are higher than hockey and baseball

Rating wise it has to be close.

You're probably right on attendance.

But to be fair I've never heard people not on this site discuss a college sport other than football or basketball

Only because they chose what they put on tv.

This is an NCAA game, and there is nobody there. It is a common theme as well

Their really isn't a 3rd sport in college athletics. In the south it is clearly baseball but in other places it usually comes down to what sports are the most successful.

TV ratings wise it clearly is. What else would be 3rd most? Baseball and Hockey are only popular in specific places.

I thought women's college World Series gets high ratings.

It does. The Florida/Michigan series had higher ratings than the men's CWS.

College softball is very fun to watch. It's my personal #3 college sport.

What did it look like for the Baylor game? I'd be willing to bet college baseball games at most parks where the home team isn't playing look similarly sparse.

Espn is in Connecticut. There's bias for the sport, as far as coverage is concerned, because of this.
