Why Does Black Lives Matter Use People Like Michael Brown and Alton Sterling?

Why do they keep using these people who are proven to have acted criminally (Michael Brown), or a known criminal (Alton Sterling)?
Is it because they don't have enough others to support their narrative? You'd think that if cops were really just going open season on black people as they say, they would have many better examples of racial injustice by the police.
It still baffles me that Michael Brown of all people was the start of the larger BLM movement.

Thugs representing thugs?

my previous statement was wrong.
because BLM thinks (the majority of African Americans do not believe this) it is ok to rape, rob and break the law or at least that is what BLM is pushing along with the leftest media.
They are trying to romanticize people like Michael Brown so that they can be used as a rallying tool to incite more violence and protest

Because of limited resources...they don't have better material to work with.

It's an undisputed fact that Michael Brown was executed while on his knees. Also, new video surveillance shows he supplied drugs to that corner store regularly, so technically he didn't commit armed robbery. Just a smear campaign by the press.
As for Alton, it's NOT illegal to carry a gun! WHY DID THEY HAVE TO MURDER HIM WHEN HE WAS ALREADY ON THE GROUND?!

Can't speak for BLM but I can say that committing a crime doesn't give police free reign to kill you on the spot.

There are plenty of others.
But large in part, blacks support him because there is a shared struggle in blackness, endowed upon through generations of persecution (solely for having jsut a drop of African blood).
Blacks tend to try to usher home the point that Liberty and justice are for all, even poor people.
The very notion of your post suggests that you think some people aren't worth of the same liberties and rights bestowed upon us by our creator and by our framers.
I would contend that you don't TRULY believe in the tenants and penants of this country. It's pretty unamerican and unpatriotic of you. Those beliefs are supposed to be left in Great Britain in 1770.

Well I think it's because they are hasty and hitch their wagons on for the ride then in their haste they don't realize the horse the wagon is hitched to has a broken leg so it goes nowhere and they look foolish.

These aren't intelligent people we're dealing with here concerning BLM.
We're talking bottom of the barrel when it comes to intelligence. Basically the lowest of what the US has to offer.

Because law abiding black people don't get shot very often. Not a whole lot of them to make martyrs out of.

Who else are they going to use?
Law-abiding blacks don't get in trouble.

There's plenty of cases of police over reach. If they picked their cases to riot over a little better they might have a better result.

There are plenty of cases that fit this.
But those are generally cut and dry and even mot white people would side with them. Their goal is divisiveness and not unity so they pick shite martyrs to use.

Glad you asked
Philando Castile - Legal gun owner, killed during a traffic stop. Case pending
Akai Gurley - Unarmed. Killed in a NYC hallway by supposed "accidental discharge". No jail time for cop.
Walter Scott - Shot in the back and killed while running away from a cop, on video even. Mistrial, no jail time. Currently a federal case is pending
Rekia Boyd - killed by off duty Chicago cop after getting into a verbal altercation over a noise complaint. Cop fired into a crowd, she was hit in the head and died. She nor anyone in her group had a weapon. No jail time for cop
Jonathan Ferrell - Killed after seeking help after he was in a car accident. Shot 10x and killed. No jail time for cop. He did not have a weapon
John Crawford - Killed in a Beavercreek, OH. He was shopping in Walmart and had a "toy gun" which is sold in Walmart. Killed on camera by police. Cops served no jail time.
Bettie Jones - Unarmed. Shot and killed as she opened the door to allow officers in to help settle a domestic issue. No jail time for cops.
Chandra Weaver - Killed when a police cruiser crashed into a car she was a passenger in. No jail time or even charges against the cops
Oscar Grant - Shot in the back and killed as he was handcuffed on the ground after a disturbance on a BART train. Officer convicted. Served less than 9 months in jail
Are these good enough for the OP?

Reading the comments in this thread by certain posters, we must assume that every police officer is bad and that every suspect who has been arrested for resisting arrest or beating up or killing a police officer are all good law abiding citizens defending them selves against the evil police. I guess the police officers killed in Dallas and Baton Rouge was assaulting their killers and that gave the killers the right to shoot the police out of self-defense.
This world is bat shite crazy. One day these people will need the police and wish the police were around to help them.

Because they were good boys.
They were turning their lives around and planning for college.

Agree with OP - They should have used Dontre Hamilton in Milwaukee or that little kid who was shot in Cleveland. Neither was a thug or has a record and the police acted heinously in both cases.
