I agree but she doesn't have to act like a fricking bitch about it either. There's a civilized way to handle things.

Yeah. I wouldn't handle it this way, personally. But I'd probably be a little bitchy if the owner tried to tell me sautéing shrimp in butter is the same as grilling it.

She also shouldn't shove ANY person or make her incident public. Handle issues in private.

You mean at the restaurant? Should she have asked the owner to go to a back office?

Also, the owner went after the patron first.

Yeah if she ate most then made the complaint she just wanted a free meal. I've received the wrong order before but didn't sit and eat on it first, I sent it back immediately.

Did I miss something in the video or comments showing she ate the food? I thought the issue was that she didn't eat the food but was asked to pay 50% of the bill bc the restaurant cooked the food and insisted grilling shrimp is the same as sautéing shrimp.

Furthest from it. I don't like it when people make unsubstantiated claims or acquisitions after acquisitions and try to blame every issue or "injustice" on the color of a person's skin.

Unfortunately, Facebook is a platform that allows a person with questionable character to get their voice heard. I think it is good to counter them on here, providing everything is kept above board.

You didn't miss anything.

It is the prejudice of society that filled in the blanks.

Nothing in the video shows me the patron really did anything wrong. She sounds sort of ignorant say "I have the right", but I don't think that takes away from the point.

No, I was just adding onto what another poster made. I haven't watched the video

If it is as big of an issue as the victim made it out to be, there are in most places private dining rooms, a manager's office or even outside in the rear of the building that are better suited for this type of discussion rather than ruin another party's meal when dining out.

Bottom line is, there is a better and more tactful way of handling this type of issue when tempers rise.

This is the only thing on the menu that mentions grilled shrimp.

And more than likely, this is a verbal policy communicated down from the owner (s).

Doubtful it was written in their operating procedures manual, if one exists.

Yeah. But sounding dumb doesn't make her wrong. And she didn't sound any more dumb than a business owner trying to demand payment for a service not provided without showing the customer a policy to back up her demand. I would have laughed in the owner's face and left. Probably would have forgotten about the incident as soon as I got food somewhere else though and not made a public issue out of it. But, whatever.

If the situation escalated to the point at which it did, why shouldn't the three options that I mentioned earlier be given more consideration?

What is wrong with any of those?
