If they go 8 and 5 I'm blaming myself for wasting my time watching this nonsense on TV.

Only if you think Les Miles' Tigers would have done the exact same thing to Clemson that Ed Orgeron's Tigers did.

Never mind.... not even then. This team is way too good to go 8-5, and we know Aranda's defense will keep us in EVERY game, and Canada is ready to show off on the biggest of stages.

In short, no, Miles wouldn't be to blame. And HELL no, this team won't go 8-5. 10 wins minimum.

depends on why. If it's like 2002 and they start off well and are improving but the qb gets hurt and they limp to 8-4 because the backup qbs weren't game ready, then you don't blame anyone. The only way you could arguably blame Les is if it's Oline troubles, since he was an olineman and had 10+ years to build a dominant 2-deep. You can't build a championship level Oline in under 2 years.

No matter what, though, the credit or blame for next season falls squarely on O.

Les did so much damage, can't be fixed in one season, has nothing to do with the win/loss record.

Les wasn't getting us back to double digit win seasons, we were trending more towards 6 wins

What? With the mcneese win we had 10 in 2015.

In fact 4 of the last 5 years we had 10 wins ( yes im counting mcneese) but dont let facts get in the way of you posting

Saban raised this program and Miles stepped in to keep it elevated. He didn't do the elevating

Saban's tenure at lsu- 16 losses 12 conf losses
Miles last 5 years at lsu that you love to shite on -15 losses 12 conf losses

In no way did saban raise lsu to what it was by 2011. He started it but miles took it to the next level. Miles has as many top 5 finishes as Saban, Mac,and Dietzel combined.
Miles has more top 5 finishes than Saban had ranked finishes.
Miles inherited a program with 1 top 5 finish in almost 2 decades and a shite recruiting class because Saban had stopped recruiting.

If lsu was so set when saban left why was did saban (the greatest coach of our generation)lose 3 games in year 5?

All those consecutive losing seasons hurt don't they?

Aw, come on man, to most of us who paid attention we won despite Les Miles, not because of Les Miles. However, most people naively gave him the credit for all of those victories. When it was really, Nick Saban’s already recruited future national championship football team left behind stockpiled for Les Miles to take over more than it was anything else that were responsible for those victories, and he still almost blew it anyway, as we missed the championship game in 2006 and had to back our way into the National Championship game in 2007.

Nonetheless, success breeds more success, the impression everybody had was that Les Miles was a great coach, when the reality was it was really those high quality players that were able to win despite the obvious incompetence of Les Miles that was really responsible for the success of the program, and of course, the recruiting remained at a high level, because most people thought that Les Miles was a genius, when he was really just a very lucky mediocre coach at the right place at the right time. If we had had a decent head coach instead, we wouldn’t have lost all of those games we shouldn’t have lost, all of those games that were mismanaged by Les never would have been mismanaged, our teams wouldn’t have played so undisciplined, and our offenses wouldn’t have stunk to high heaven year after year, after year, after year.

In fact, had we had a descent head coach instead of Les Miles all those years, we probably would have easily won another 1 to 2 or more national championships during that same span of time given all of the talented players we had over the years that were squandered under Les Miles.

However, as time went on, Les continued losing more and more games he never should have lost, looked like crap in a lot of other games we never should have looked like crap in, continued fielding undisciplined teams, lost other games due to mismanagement, and his offenses year after year always stunk to high heaven until no quarterbacks wanted to play for him. It finally all caught up with him and he was fired. The truth is he should have been fired a long time ago. In fact, that loser never should have been hired in the first place.

Now I’m not saying he was a bad person because he wasn’t. He would have been a fun goofy guy to hang around with, to drink a cold beer with, to play cards with, or whatever, but as a head football coach, he was very mediocre at best. Get over him, as it’s good riddance. He was a bad hire for LSU.

You dont coach for 11 years and have the 7th best win % in sec history without being a good coach. Only people that dont understand football dont give Miles credit for winning. If lsu was so set up greatness why did saban lose 3 games in year 5?

Thanks for posting this. It lets me know you have no clue about lsu football. You just said the lsu coach with the ONE OF THE BEST TENURES IN SEC HISTORY, let alone lsu history, was a bad hire. You sir dont understand football. Bottomline.

Its amazing how all these posters just act like any coach couldve come in a kept getting all these talented players to commit and play at lsu. We only have lsu's entire history proving otherwise.i have never seen a fan base more willing to shite on its own accomplishments just because they dont agree with the style of offense a coach runs. Its truly pathetic.

OK, you go ahead and put the Bama and Florida losses on him when he had a couple weeks in-season to make changes on the fly and try and become a little less predictable
