Walked into Best Buy with no pre-order and got one yesterday. I love it so far. Once they get all of the features added that they have planned, it's going to be a solid console. It is a little bare right now though.

Yeah head phone should of been on bottom and charging on top. But I'm use to the charging being on bottom because of vita.

Outside of some funky issues with my joycon grip, I love this thing. Especially in tabletop mode. Been having little tournaments at the local bar by my house. Dudes are having a blast with it.

Fast rmx has been my favorite title so far for it.

Also, it's super easy to access the jpn eshop. Has a LOT more games at launch and most are in english.

I've just gotten most of the neo geo games and the dragon quest heroes demo by doing so. Most games are in english too. So here are the steps:

Go to [mynintendo.com] and create a new account, set that user's country as Japan.
On your Switch, add a new user, and link that user to your newly created Japanese mynintendo account.
You now have access to browse and download demos from the JP eShop.
In order to purchase a game, you either need a credit card that is capable of international purchases (maybe? seems like some folks on twitter might have used their credit card) OR a Japanese eShop card. I have not tried to use a US eShop card for this, but I did accidentally try to use a JP one in the US eShop and it was rejected, so I assume the cards are directly linked to their currency.
You can buy japanese eShop cards from Play-Asia.com. You'll need to verify your account email with them before they can send you one, then they send you to a page with an image of the eShop code.
Once you have your JP eShop card, open the eShop with your Japanese account.
'Redeem Code' is the third button down on the menu on the left. Punch in your code, and this should add credit to your account in this eShop.
Buying a game is now just a matter of figuring out the menus in Japanese now! (Assuming you don't speak Japanese. More power to you if you do.)

Friend went to the local ToysRUs and said they had 30. I assume the demand for this isn't too high?

I can confirm this too. They had around 15 of them when I picked up mine.

I was thinking about this yesterday, how bars will end up having them out for patrons to frick around with while they drink.

This system could be yuuugggeeee.

Nintendo fricking NAILED local co op with this thing. Every single person has loved playing fast rmx and king of fighters with me. Bomberman is too crazy in tabletop mode. Hard to keep track of players.

I should have gone yesterday, I called the closest one to me and the girl said they sold out their last one an hour ago.

Too much Zelda. Did this hit eShop or did you use a different eshop region?

Is Japan going to be the best eShop region to work through?

I wonder when we'll have an idea of that.

Most games are in english. It's easy to navigate. Just research a game before purchase.

Anybody playing Super Bomberman R and figured out how to beat Magnet Bomberman? I've tried for a while now to no avail.

Amazon has 20% off all Switch games for Prime members, including pre-orders. I just pre-ordered Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Odyssey.

It's probably been mentioned, just thought I'd throw it out there.
