Has anybody stayed at this resort in Key West? I want to be on the party side of Duval St, a nice hotel with water view and pool. Also looked at Waldorf but I think it's on the quiet side of Duval...am I right?

We stayed there last April and loved it. Cant beat the location. Its in the heart of everything but while you are at the resort it is so peaceful. Try to get an Ocean View room if u can.

It's at the very end of Duval street. There is no party/quite side.

It's pretty quiet around the Waldorf there. It's not in Duval, though. It's a few blocks form the southern end, which is indeed a bit quieter than the other end.

We stayed on the south side of the island, so I can't help with the room.
I just wanted to give a heads up on Latitudes reservations if you plan on eating a sunset dinner there. Reservations need to be made 2-3 months in advance.
We didn't know this and missed out.
Our backup plan was a sunset dinner on the balcony at Hot Tin Roof. It was fabulous!

So it looks like you take a ferry to get to latitudes. Do you just walk to mallory square and say you have a rez at latitudes?

I'm not sure but I think you have to check in at the Westin/Margaritaville hotel. They will direct you to the boat that takes you to the island. You can't get on that boat unless you have a reservation is my understanding.
We took a sunset cruise on a catamaran with Sebago. It was wonderful!

When are you going? I'll be on the island first weekend of March for s bachelor party. A stripper stabbed a friend last time I was in key west, If you are looking for quiet, avoid us at all costs but if you want to get down...then cmon

We didn't on this trip. We were there only 4 full days and didn't want to use one of those days for the Dry Tortugas. It is an early day if you take the ferry. It leaves at 7 am.
I think you can take a plane for a shorter day, but I don't like small planes.
We loved the happy hour at the Boathouse at the Commodore's restaurant. Half price drinks and appetizers and you're at the dock, so a nice breezy view.

Casa Marina is prolly a nicer hotel than the Pier House. The PH is on Duval closer to Mallory Sq and Casa is on the other side of the island. It's a bit further away from most of the action (i.e. Duval st)
Lattitudes does require taking the hotel ferry to get there. Nice view, people like the experience. The food is mostly a heat and serve operation, soup out of bag and what not. Nothing is really made over there but the presentation isn't bad. Best bet is to call for reservations, they block the books online because they lose a lot of seating in bad weather. For dinner there are much better options.

Sunset Key, the island Lattitudes is on is owned by Margaritaville Hotel (formerly the Westin). Your dinner reservation is your boat reservation. They'll have your name on their iPad. It's the only way to the island.
Again it's a complete tourist trap, but I understand why people want to go there.
In general the restaurant scene in KW is pretty lacking but there are a few that are decent.

I like Pier House. We went with another couple and had a blast. It's in a good action area at the end of duval
