Should we not be recording the phone calls of the Russian ambassador?

Nobody said that we should not. But this was a political hit. There was zero in that communication that broke the law or Flynn would be in jail NOW.

Why would Obama sign an EO in his last month? Why was that EO a huge shift in policy? Why did he not do it when the Dems started worrying about Russians?

Some common sense has to be used here.

You want the US to stand? To last the test of time? Then the people of the US had better start demanding the END of this type of politics. If not, what happens is a snow ball effect. The right has changed drastically on the local level and Trump should be your first clue.

They hired him because they view him as a tough guy. They are adopting the "end justifies the means" attitude of the left.

Is that ok with you? Can the right now:

1- Use the Irs to go after non profit organizations that promote liberal ideas?

2- Use the nuclear option for everything over the next 2 years?

I'm just saying. If this is where we are as a nation, then I want my side to win. So Let's roll.

As long as the leadership of the left acts this way, as long as the left MSM act this way..... I'm fine with the gloves off and fight fire with fire!

I guess i just find it odd that day by day we see more proof of the Trump camp/Russia collusion

I wasn't aware there had been ANY of that actually. Since the previous election season started this board has given me headaches. You all do this for your respective sides. What YOU'VE seen more of is suppositions, allegations, fabrication and conjecture. You then come here and pretend these things equate to proof.

I'm all about some investigatin, but I'm a little perturbed that people in DC are feigning surprise at the intelligence community spying on US citizens...

You know the reason.

WASHINGTON-The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee said Tuesday that the most significant question posed by the resignation of national security adviser Michael Flynn is why intelligence officials eavesdropped on his calls with the Russian ambassador and later leaked information on those calls to the press.

"I expect for the FBI to tell me what is going on, and they better have a good answer," said Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, which is conducting a review of Russian activities to influence the election. "The big problem I see here is that you have an American citizen who had his phone calls recorded."
quote:

Nunes said he was dismayed that those recordings had leaked, citing a complex process for tapping communications involving U.S. citizens and then "unmasking" it for intelligence use.

The top Democrat on the committee, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said late Monday that Flynn resignation "does not end questions over his contacts with the Russians."

"These alleged contacts and any others the Trump campaign may have had with the Kremlin are the subject of the House Intelligence Committee's ongoing investigation," he said in a statement. "Moreover, the Trump Administration has yet to be forthcoming about who was aware of Flynn's conversations with the Ambassador and whether he was acting on the instructions of the President or any other officials, or with their knowledge."

Nunes said it was "very hard to believe" that Flynn was acting as "some sort of secret Russian agent."

He also said he saw some hypocrisy in the response of Democrats to the Flynn recording.

"Where are all the privacy groups screaming now?" he asked.

LINK

Flynn was a private citizen and we know the second in charge at the FBI was tied to $500K HRC campaign donations.

Maybe POTUS Trump should order the intel community to record and leak all of HRCs conversations or maybe his other political opponents. It is a dangerous road...

Which one?

That Trump knew for weeks but they broke the news to Pence within the last 10 days?

That the administration was informed by DOJ that Flynn lied to them, but sat on it for some yet-unknown reason before yesterday?

I actually agree that there was investment into booting Flynn. A lot of entities wanted that to happen.

I'm glad Flynn ended up doing their work for them.

These trumpers have completely lost it with this one, back to conspiracy theory after conspiracy theory. Before we know it, it'll be a Kenyan coup from Obama's native born village to completely enslave the American Christian

but blaming this on Obama is laughable.

Obama literally said he was heartened by protestors against Trump despite the fact they were actually rioting and destroying property and ruining people's livelihoods in fits of rage.

Obama does not have the personality and character to be gracious like other former Presidents and live a happy retirement. frick no, he's setting up a shadow government two blocks away from the White House and will be fighting Trump as much as he can under the radar. This NY post column further expands on that. LINK

He's an activist, not an elder statesman.

Actually, they SHOULD be doing this. The issue is that they then leaked it for political reasons. That is unacceptable and illegal. People should go to jail and be made examples to others.

It's been disheartening to watch your devolution over the last 18-24 months.

Sometimes stepping away from this echo chamber is healthy.

A group tied to Obama has been tied to bussing outside protesters to these town hall meetings. He's a community organizer after all

First off, call the Putin embassy in DC. Do you expect FBI/CIA is not listening?

What makes you think they'll stop at Flynn?

Unelected political activist bureaucrats and traitors are like serial killers, they don't stop at one. Just because the corrupt cop may have killed a bad guy doesn't mean the next one will be just as bad.

And that is due to Obama signing an EO in his last month.

quote:

Attorney General Loretta Lynch signed the new rules on January 3rd, after Director of National Intelligence James Clapper approved them in December. President Barack Obama's administration passed the changes in its final days in the White House -- President-elect Donald Trump takes office on January 20th.

quote:

The National Security Agency is now able to share raw surveillance data with all 16 of the United States government's intelligence groups, including the Central Intelligence Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Homeland Security and Drug Enforcement Administration.

We are talking warrentless things here.

Even the ACLU was shocked!

So what happens if Flynn tells Pence the substance of his call with the ambassador and it turns out it really was a totally innocuous, surface-level congratulatory call?

If there really is no fire with this smoke, why didn't the administration fight it or counter it?

I don't, but I also think there was special attention paid to Flynn. You guys can pretend Flynn wasn't controversial if you want, but you're just not going to get a similar effort to undermine Mattis or even Pompeo. Flynn was widely considered to be uncontrollable and unpredictable at best, and that belief was shown to be accurate.
