us too man.

because even when sid "stopped time" and said "david go to the white room" , right when the bullets were shot , even then they were in some type of alternate dimension or manifestation , because no one could talk or hear anything.

somehow they all went into David's mind which has been won by the yellow eyed demon, but Oliver from the astral plane ice cube is running interference and then guided Marilyn back to the original "reality" of david's house to see the bullets but then she was seen when the wall's eyes opened up ... ??!

Don't taint this awesome show with Lost references.

As of now, as far as I can tell, this has all been happening in David's head.

Far out speculating now - David could be possessed by everyone else...they are all existing inside of him.

quote:

Mark 5:1–5:13 5They came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gerasenes. 2And when he had stepped out of the boat, immediately a man out of the tombs with an unclean spirit met him. 3He lived among the tombs; and no one could restrain him any more, even with a chain; 4for he had often been restrained with shackles and chains, but the chains he wrenched apart, and the shackles he broke in pieces; and no one had the strength to subdue him. 5Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always howling and bruising himself with stones. 6When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and bowed down before him; 7and he shouted at the top of his voice, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.” 8For he had said to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” 9Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He replied, “My name is Legion; for we are many.”.

I didn't even watch LOST. Love this show though, just playing around.

The monster is clearly Shadow King and is synonymous with Lenny/Benny/the dog/etc. Same entity.

They are currently stuck in his mind while Shadow King has free reign. Others are starting to realize they aren't in reality, but not David. He's been controlled too long by the parasite and can't resist very well anymore.

I think that little halo thing is going to be how he beats it.

That doesn't make sense from the context of at some point you have to assume David will break free and then what's the show about? These imaginary characters that make up the cast of the show just go away? Or they stick around imaginary friend style and the show is just David walking around IRL talking to his "team" like a crazy person? This show doesn't work long term if they aren't real.

Judging by who is in the virtual mental hospital, it had to happen at some point after the encounter in the van where Syd (switched with 70s jewfro bad guy) shot Kerry. Because when Kerry was running away from jewfro in the hospital she was holding her side where she got shot. I don't get the apparent time freezing element, but I think when David went to the white room with Syd, he took everyone in the vicinity with them and Lenny took over.

All good questions.

I need to do a full rewatch soon.

I'm of the mind that they've been in the "hospital"/astral plane this whole time. Last night's episode snuck in a repeated hint. When David came into Syd's room to snuggle the first shot of the room was from a camera angle under the bed. As the door is opened it shows no feet as David entered the room. The same thing happened in E1 but with the roles reversed, which at the time made me think that Syd was a figment of David's imagination. As far as can tell all of S1 so far has taken place on the astral plane.

Another thing that would support this would be how the crew of Ptonomy/Syd/Kerry moved around when searching for clues and shite. They would just walk everywhere...boom at this little town...through woods and boom...at the lighthouse. Its like everything was just beyond the trees and only a few hundred yards away.

I believe there are very real bullets flying towards David/Syd and time is nearly frozen while we are in the astral plane.

The reason I bring this up is I noticed that Syd has placed herself in the bullets' path.
- Syd's body is the one about to get shot
- David's body is under the control of Shadow King, acting as the mind. They mentioned this a couple of times this past episode.
- Syd is in very close contact with David
- Syd has the ability to swap minds when directly touching.
- so if Syd is really touching David, then the Shadow King mind should enter her body as it is being shot and killed.
- she and David would then be stuck in the same body, but both alive. And free of the Shadow King.

Good stuff. Y'all think shadow King makes it to season 2? If not, will David appear normal?

David: I'm you, your rational mind.

David: You're British??

David: Like I said, I'm your rational mind.

Who knows. I expect there will be some sort of victory over it, but I doubt it is killed this season.

Yeah shadow king survived the battle with Xavier by existing in the astral plane so I expect that to continue.

I loved that the generic dad on the chalk board animation just happened to look exactly like Xavier.

That classroom scene including the chalkboard animation scene was fantastic. I can't believe they basically showed Charles battle the Shadow King on this show. For all those complaining that this show doesn't explain anything, half this episode was creative exposition dump.

The silent movie bit was also fantastic.

I felt like we barely got a sense of the Eye, who he was and what he could do. I was really surprised he got taken out.

Yes this is really the only disappointment I have so far. He was a prominent villain, yet we really got no sense of his actual powers. Oh well, minor complaint

Another good one last night. Bummed next week is the finale. However it looks like David is starting to harness his power so we can see some cool stuff coming up
