At least in South Louisiana it is. I'm excited this year because I ordered a variety of heirloom tomato seeds. Think I'll start prepping my raised beds this weekend.

Putting potatoes in the ground in a couple weeks, then all the other good stuff. I love heirloom tomatoes, especially pink brandywine, but I think I'm just gonna stick with creoles this year.

ETA:
Anybody have a problem with Cole crops this year all of mine went to shite for some reason, I'm thinking because it was so warm

Mine started out strong but I moved and the amount of sunlight they were getting dropped drastically and it was all over but the crying after that.

Got some onions in the ground that are sprouting good ... and the peas that were planted 3 weeks ago are looking good ... might go grab some blackberry vines to plant in the no mans land behind the fence

My garden was a let down last year. Started out strong. But then it flooded (twice) thanks to a couple of freak storms. Luckily my house was spared. But it was all downhill from there.

My garden is currently a huge patch of crimson clover. I've taken samples from under them and man does my dirt look pretty (for once). Hopefully this year I'll have better luck with the weather. Waiting for my soil test to come back from the lab. I'm ready to get started!

I did really well with Celebrity last year. I'm growing those for canning and the rest are all heirlooms.

Got started too late last year , when it got hot it was done.
Cucumbers were terribly bitter.
Tomatoes didn't make shite.
Peppers were peewees.
Squash was good early

Eggplant, okra and cantaloupe only things I was proud of.

Getting it on early is a must.
My ground wasn't properly prepared :cultivated either... First year.
I'm ready now though.
