how old are you? The answer might give an insight why and how this is even a conversation. Juiced up Bonds was the Terminator of baseball. He never stopped... You could not get anything past him and he was being intentionally walked seemingly every other at bat. He was the most indimidating hitter I've ever seen.

Bonds was the best player I've ever seen. Not only was he hitting homeruns at a record clip but he got on base a ton and stole a shitload of bases. Juiced or not he was incredible.

Bonds. premier fielder at his position. the best left fielder while he was playing.
great hitter with Pittsburgh. great hitter with SF before drugs. after pulling hamstring in his mid 30's, trying to steal a base, he started PEDs.
before PEDs, he was a legit all star. 30 30 guy. speed and average and power.
after PED's, he was the best hitter I ever saw.
I started with Mickey Mantle and WIllie Mays. they had more power than he did before PEDs. He had more power than anyone, ever, after PEDs.

Bonds' prime from 2000-2004 is the greatest prime ever for any athlete, IMO. Ok, I'll limit to the Big 4, I'm sure a case for Phelps can be made, but I'm not familiar enough outside of the Big 4.

it's hard to pick against Bonds, but Mike Trout hasn't hit his prime yet...

Is trout allowed to juice? If so I take him over roid-head bonds.

Trout.

Not close.

He hasnt hit his peak yet and is way ahead of where Bonds was at this point in his career.

Is Bond's prime when he was 36 and on steroids?

If it was when they were in the their mid 20s, it is Trout and its not even close.
Trout has been in the league 5 years, he has finished either 1st or 2nd in MVP voting all 5 years.

For the 1st 5 years of a career, trout has performed better than anyone else ever. And he's not on steroids. Was roided up bonds better than a young trout? Sure, but apples to apples (no roids for bonds) and trout is easily better.

Barry Bonds has a WAR7 (Peak 7-year WAR) of 72.7. Mike Trout has accumulated 48.5 WAR in just over five seasons. That means Trout will have to average 12.1 WAR over the next two seasons just to match Bonds. Mike Trout has never had a 12 WAR or even a 11 WAR season. In fact, there hasn't been a position player with a 12 WAR season since Carl Yastrzemski in 1967. So the answer clearly is Bonds any way you look at it.

The first baseball games I can remember are from 1979. that's a period of 37 seasons. Bonds is the best player, steroids or not, that I've seen play. Period..
