eh, know quite a few schools that didn't show obama's inauguration and won't show this one
That's really shitty of them. There have only been 44 Presidents and only 54 inaugurations in our nations history. A person only gets to see a few of them. to rob your students of that opportunity is a dick move.
I've even been showing Senate confirmation hearings. It was a first for me to get to watch them.
During the Obama inauguration, I had students ask me if I voted for Obama. When I replied no, they asked why I was watching. I told them it is a historical event, and like it or not. He is the president. We as a nation have forgotten to teach our kids to lose with dignity.

When can we get on with this civil (ideological) war? I'm ready to kick the shite out of some liberals.

I wished he would go to the inner city public schools in Washington and invite a class to go see this and put them on stage.
We know the right will say he's pandering blah blah blah.
But as I said in the TC thread yesterday, it is amazing experience and should be an honor to witness American History, no matter your leanings.

This is one of the benefits to homeschooling--the ability to adjust curriculum on the fly.
They picked out of a hat for a POTUS to do a report on and nobody in the class wanted WJC.
Bunch of beautiful young deplorables.

SF teachers want to close the schools tomorrow so all their students can protest the Trump presidency.

There is misinformation circulating on social media regarding WCS and the 2017 Presidential Inauguration. Here are the facts. We are not handling this inauguration any differently than we have in the past. There has not been any type of district-wide directive regarding watching the inauguration, either live or replayed; and to our knowledge, no principal has banned teachers from watching the event with students as might be appropriate. We have 44 schools, and the inauguration is being shown live in some classrooms while being shown at a later time in others. Since the inauguration will take place during the lunch period for many students and teachers, they will be able to watch during that time or possibly during study hall. Generally, teachers who cover content associated with history/politics/government will show and discuss parts of tomorrow's events. Another example taking place at Independence High is where some English classes may also look at other parts of the inauguration such as the poetry which might be recited and compare and contrast with past inaugurations. However, the content may not all be covered tomorrow in some of these classes. It may be covered later in the semester. To our knowledge, no school is showing the inauguration in a large group setting tomorrow but will instead be class-by-class as instructionally appropriate. In addition, schools will work with families that keep their children at home to watch the full day of activities, and there will be extensive coverage of tomorrow's events and recordings easily available for all to access.

Just goes to show how deeply infected the body politic has become with Degenerate Democrat Leftism.

I'm showing it in my classroom. This is history.
The history teacher in my high school kept Clinton picture up throughout the Bush 43 tenure. Put up Obama's in '09.

Homeschoolers are one point of light that I'm glad to belong to. We, too, will be watching with some homeschool friends. It will be a great history lesson in democracy and the peaceful transition of power in the greatest democracy in the world.

My home, and one of the most conservative counties in the country. First I've heard of this, but I'm sure someone is going to lose their job over it if true.

I'm sure if this was the first woman president, there would be a test on the content come Monday morning.

I figured it must be. No way Mike Looney would've let that happen.

Amazing to believe we are talking about America, difficult to accept. No Civics anymore, now no inaugurations, no prayer, no pledge
