Why?
I'd put money up that I donate more than you. I'm completely fine with helping people that need it. I just don't think the government should force me to do so.

When the insurance companies get to decide who lives and who dies, I want every Republican voter to say, "That's how it should be."
Wasn't this widely discussed as part of ACA in the beginning before it got into the public domain? You should google it, because I certainly remember a bunch of Repubs warning against it...you know if the gubment got to make choices for us.
They do this for me now in Medicare and some of it isn't the best choice.

We should have a system where all Americans can get free health screenings, and meds for common illnesses. If you want more coverage, then buy private insurance

Yep. Look at the frickery with the VA for a great example of government controlled healthcare.

Gotta keep this part of law -- agreed? Also, like the portion of the law that requires losers who don't carry insurance to pay tax penalty to cover the cost burden on the rest of us when they walk into a charity clinic.
Whatever the GOP comes up with it is going to be identical in every aspect but name to Obamacare....every single GOP health reform bill proposed since at least Nixon was in office included some form of individual mandate, the creation of pools of buyers, a list of standardized benefits, some ban on pre-existing conditions and some form of financial assistance to the poor.
The one thing that they are going to add is they are going to limit how much liability providers have in malpractice cases. They can call it anything they like it is the barest of bare bones conservative healthcare bill and short of simply tossing 20 million people out of any insurance they are going to repeal and replicate because there really ain't much between Obamacare and the status quo....

I welcome any of the resident physicians to chime in here - but I have a relative who is a very respected orthopaedic surgeon and he claims (I can't verify, of course) that his malpractice insurance runs in the multiple six figures annually. No wonder that shite costs so much.

Find something demonstrably better, and even Obama will support it. Problem is, Republicans have nothing better.

High risk pools at the state level weren't all that much more expensive than individual policies for the healthy are now.
They had huge waiting lists, leaving many unable to seek care. No bueno.

There was a large disinformation campaign run about 'death panels' in relation to end-of-life care counseling. Hence, that part of the bill was excised, and the cost went up.

Answer for Clinton's failures if you want a discussion.

Admit the Iraq war was Bush's choice and we can have a discussion about other things.

Nothing is happening until you address my points on Clinton. You're deflecting and we both know why.

What points, that you don't like his foreign policy? You introduced those to deflect from your thought that Clinton started the Iraq war. Move on, admit it was Bush's war, and we can begin.

Pre-existing is a main culprit of what's killing the plan

There were several. Go back and read them. Then address them.

Nope. The Iraq War was called out after I brought Clinton in.
