Aranda just showed how you shut down a DT QB.

Big Bad DT Heisman Trophy winner got processed.

Not hard to do.

Other SEC Coordinators know how as well.

Shepard, McMillan and Jennings were "All World DT's" in high school, but couldn't handle the speed of College Football when they actually had to read a defense or go through a progression against the Big Boys.

Odds are that "Omnipotent" Scott will be the same when the lights come on. (Despite all the cheerleading on here by his friends and relatives)

BTW, why didn't any other SEC schools offer him a scholarship if he's all that?

They were also part of one of the shittiest offenses in the history of mankind.

Good coaches are able to make it easy and help it slow down. We've failed miserably for a decade.

I don't think Scott ever plays a down at LSU. There are two high profile recruits coming in next year and LSU is not going to start Scott over either one of them. Scott may be a great player but I don't think he plays over Brennan or Narcisse

It was coach O in the Citrus Bowl post press conference, when asked about if Lindsey Scott did a good job emulating Jackson in preparation for the Louisville game, who said, "Scott is going to be a tremendous player for us. He’s a dual threat quarterback for us. Does a great job, very smart."

I'm thinking Coach O didn't have to say all of that. Therefore, I'm thinking Coach O seems to be quite excited about the prospects of that guy playing for us. That’s the impression I got anyway.

You don't know what he is now. He made Key look silly in that clip. His throws were on the money.

Let's judge him on 2-3 years ago. I guess once you hit 18 , you quit developing.

fricking moron.

LMBO. Clear that you don't like dual threats. Let's not get into the contest, where I name all successful DTs throughout college FB (present and past). Why do we always ask about "other SEC" offers? The SEC has been known for average to poor QB play. It's not the gold standard of QB development.

I like baker mayfield and Jared stidham a lot. Whether it's DT or PP, it doesn't matter. Can the guy play? Is he in a system that fits his skill set? Scott was better recruited and more decorated in HS than mayfield and R. Wilson. Neither had SEC offers. Does that mean he's the guy? No. But SEC offers and whether PP or DT, doesn't determine success. Can a guy play? We will see.

Meanwhile, there's two DT QBs starting in the NC game for the third year in a row.

You're an idiot.

Good point. If he is a "great player", we can only hope that it's a "real competition". If it is (equal reps), Canada will take the guy who gives the best chance to win, no matter how high profile the kid was. Players play, rankings don't.

Why not? Because he's too short? Did you see his quickness vs 1st team defense players? No? Accurate balls against this same defense?

I need to see more of the passing that video showed to form an opinion.

His quickness is nice, but it doesn't overcome a lack of passing ability (not saying that's the case here...just that there is not enough to form an opinion).

I don't know if I can agree on this. I watched 3 games in 2015.

Scotlandville - 350 yds passing 208 rushing
Hahnville (qtrs final) - 300+ pass 165 rush
Parkway (semi finals) - 150 pass 265 rushing

That doesn't mean he's the guy here. But I've watched a few SEC recruits that showed me far less in HS.

I always say that he was "lucky" to be accepted to Harvard, "Fortunate" to be at LSU, as all of our guys should feel.

Well, I actually watched the clip. They guy has an extremely quick change of direction, while keeping his eyes downfield. His throws were accurate (only a couple do hard to really get a bead) and when he ran, he was lightning fast. I can't speak for Narcisse, Brennan, or any other QB on the roster other than what we've seen. So I won't speculate on who starts. But I'll say this, this kid has a chance, at the very least. And if he gets some game action, he will make some plays.

Dont forget about him lighting up John Ehret in the dome who probably had the best defense in the state. I don't think they allowed 10 pts in the playoffs until they ran into Zachary.
