I have the Utmost respect for the Spurs franchise. But the franchise history doesn't have anything to do with the recent iterations of the team that have been way overrated based on the regular season records. That's why we'll call them a regular season team until we see a big time playoff series win.

You're talking about Houston or the Spurs?

THEY WERE A REGULAR SEASON TEAM. You make my argument for me. TRheir regular season record was not indicative of how good they were. That's why they lost to a team with a worse record when the games mattered. All this 40-1 stuff is making my point for me.
No it doesn't make your argument for you, because 1. You insisted they weren't championship caliber and that stat clearly proves otherwise 2. just because you lose in the second round to two of the top 5 players in the world doesn't mean you were just a regular season team, it means you lost to two of the top 5 players in the world. 3. A Greg Popavich team is never just a regular season team. End of discussion, you simply don't think like a logical human being and I can see why people on this board just say to ignore you. You either have no capacity to follow simple logic or you're a troll, I can't tell which.

Let me guess, Spurs fan?
Any time a team loses out earlier in the playoffs than their seed would indicate, well that is a sign of a regular season team. It's not debatable it's a fact. When a team is worse in the playoffs than in the reg season = reg season team. When you win 65+ and don't make conference finals.. well that's regular season team to the nth degree.

What about teams being hot entering the playoffs? Having a poor stretch in the playoffs? Maybe bad luck? Bad matchup? Anything really.
Losing a series doesn't automatically mean you're a regular season team you dork.

A guy like me .. 2 months into the season last year, when people were fawning over the Spurs beating up on the dregs of the league, saw that the team woudl be nothing special in the playoffs. They relied heavily on depth and top end talent wasn't even close to championship worthy. I called a rd 2 loss. Guess when they lost out. Ekieve me I dealt with your type all year last year. Still holding onto to the Spurs of old. Saying Duncan. Parker. Manu. Like those guys were still diffeeence makers.

Nope, Rockets fan. You're assertion is still absolutely mind numbingly idiotic, any team that ever got upset is therefore a "regular season team" under your logic and again, that's just fricking stupid. There's no debating that.

Yes it does. If your postseason doesn't live up to where the regular season record would project that means that you were an underachiever in the postseason. Aka regular season team.

Boom "seeing" last year's Houston Rockets

Your assertion that just because the Spurs have Pop make them a contender is even more laughable. I remember when okc was up 20 in the second half of the closeout game there were still people posting that pop has something up his sleeve. Or that pop would figure it out. When it was clear as day they were done. Pop needs championship level players to win title. If you can't see that they don't have that now. And didn't last year. Then you don't have much of an eye for hoops TBH.

Rockets have started both games very shite, and its about to finally come back and bite them in the arse. Lets hope they finish better than last game.

I Couldn't get to upset about a loss tonight TBH. 62 win pace. A loss could do some good keeping em hungry and locked in things have been too easy lately.

I figured the first back-to-back loss would come @Memphis after playing GSW at home later this month, at least that would be a respectable back-to-back.

Your definition of a "regular season team" would litteraly make the 2016 Golden State Warriors a "regular season team". Again, you're a fricking idiot.

Well you gotta look at the way they win games. Teams that win reg season games in ways that don't win games in the playoffs are regular season teams.
Like Boston. They won in regular season with effort. By playing hard. In the postseason everyone plays hard so that advantage is negated.
The Spurs won games because they had the best bench in the league. When starters play more minutes in the playoffs the impact of the Spurs having the best bench was marginalised. And that's why we saw them bow out in rd2 even though they won 65+ games. That's why they are a regular season team. The way they won games in regular season simply does not translate to postseason. Bench don't matter that much come April and may.

And hey I called it last year before we even got to the midway point of the season. I'm admittedly not a casual fan TBH I wouldn't expect a casual fan like you to be able to see what I saw in them last year.

What were you saying again?

I can't see HOU losing to Memphis again. That was a BS game the last time CC played there. They had different scrubs hitting 3-4 threes in a row almost all game.
