Look at the minutes played by their starters for starters. Not a single player played above 30 mpg. Then go look at what I quoted in the previous post.

you're better than this.

A quick 12-0 run is pretty nice, need to absolutely destroy this quarter. It makes a huge difference when Anderson and Ariza are hitting.

The starters on that team were much better than the starters on last years team. They still had Duncan manu Parker playing at a high level.

I can't see HOU losing to Memphis again. That was a BS game the last time CC played there. They had different scrubs hitting 3-4 threes in a row almost all game

Just figured Memphis was really good at home. They destroyed GSW at home, so I was okay with a loss @ Memphis given that occurrence.

Memphis plays such an ugly game they're prob my least favorite team to lose to. It's always like "how the hell did we lose to that team"

They won because of DEPTH! Even in the playoffs, Duncan and Parker were a hair over 30 mpg. The Spurs ran into a buzzsaw last season.

Well you gotta look at the way they win games. Teams that win reg season games in ways that don't win games in the playoffs are regular season teams.

Like Boston. They won in regular season with effort. By playing hard. In the postseason everyone plays hard so that advantage is negated.

The Spurs won games because they had the best bench in the league. When starters play more minutes in the playoffs the impact of the Spurs having the best bench was marginalised. And that's why we saw them bow out in rd2 even though they won 65+ games. That's why they are a regular season team. The way they won games in regular season simply does not translate to postseason. Bench don't matter that much come April and may.

All of this is irrelevant. Your definition of a regular season team as stated earlier still means 2016 warriors are a regular season team. I win you lose too ba so sad. Not a casual fan either, I wouldn't expect you to understand much about basketball based on these conversations tho. You doubt Pop, obviously you're either stupid, a Spurs hater, or a troll. Considering your a Rockets fan, it's becoming pretty obvious you just don't respect how great of a coach Pop is. Spurs have a great chance to make conference finals this year and last year it's not debatable, they're a great championship caliber team.

They had 3 players average over 30 mpg in the playoffs. None in the regular season. They leaned on their top players in the playoffs. Impact of bench was lessened.

I have tons of respect for Pop. You are the kinda fan who still thought that the Spurs would beat OKC in game 6 bc "pop is gonna figure it out" even though it was clear as day they were done. Like I said Even Pop needs championship caliber players to win a title. CLEARLY the Spurs roster isn't that good. If you don't see it, well hey it may be time to look at more film.

We need a good run to get up by about 10. DJ Augustin going off is frustrating because he's clearly playing way above his norm.

Is this sorta like the fan who argued 30, 40, even 50 games into the season wasn't a valid indication of the quality of the team?

Nope, all in asserting is that they are championship caliber and not just a regular season team. Who would you say was not a regular season team in 2016? Who was championship caliber?

Golden state and Cleveland were the only championship caliber teams last year. Regular season teams: the usual suspects Boston and Memphis. And also the Spurs.

And the Houston Rockets in every year they were good, except for about 4 of them.
