McMillan was brought in to provide 4 years of depth to the QB position.

Lsu takes McMillan to get lodge but would not take cam Sims to get cam Robinson. Got it!!!

Cam Cameron was so underrated as a recruiter. McMillan is a perfect example. He was able to pull him out of Texas and fended off big time schools like Arkansas State, Stephen F. Austin, and UNLV. We were lucky Texas-San Antonio didn't offer though. If they offer McMillan is probably a Roadrunner right now.

I admit I have very little data on Mcmillan, but what I saw in the spring game wasn't good.

He has one trait that's above average, imho. If we ran an offense that relied on quick screens and bubbles he'd be the guy. He has that quick whip release and great touch on those short balls.

yea i get it but at the time it was widely assumed. His highlight tape was fairly unimpressive and consisted of about 30 "fade routes" to demarkus lodge whom would just go up and get the ball.

I have talked to several people who watch practice regularly and they all say he will never play a down at LSU.

I thought he was a preferred walk-on?

Dude isnt going to be getting any reps at QB for LSU

I just wanted to point out that not only did he play in a game this year, but he also completed a 19 yd pass. LINK

Saw him play several times in high school. Ran a very simple offense with not a lot of reads. Towards the end of his sr season he started splitting time with a Soph. Most people around the program was shocked that he was offered by LSU.

It's hard to know what goes on behind the closed practice doors but the kid seems to have a good attitude. He smiles a lot on the field which I like....a player who has fun and gets along with his teammates. However, if he hasn't separated himself yet from the competition, I don't think he will be a contender for the starting job. Seems like Lindsay Scott is a step ahead of him from what I can tell in the competition.

mcmillan is better than harris, but im basing this off what i saw in practice not a game as iverson says. this is practice what i saw :) mcmillan has better balance than harris. cant wait to see the competition light up this summer btw 6 or more qb's

Pretty sure he won the strongest arm competition his Sr year against quite a few 4 star QBs. Not bad for a kid that can run too.

Not sure why people bash him so much here.

McMillian was made by Demarkus Lodge at Cedar Hill. And for those thinking Texas HS football is overrated... y'all full of it. Katy, Cibolo Steele, Allen, Desoto, Lake Travis, Aledo, Cedar Hill... there are some dang good programs

There's just something about lefty QB's. I don't think anyone's sleeping on him. It's just that if he plays next year it will be because Harris, Etling, Scott, and Brennan are out.

I beg to differ about Texas High School Football. Living in the Arlington area for 4 years, I have witnessed the best High School football in the country, bar none. I love Louisiana football too, but outside of 4/5 teams there is no comparison relative to Texas High School football, its more than a religion here.

Lots of generalization in your post. However, I see louisiana teams (outside of the top 4/5 teams) beat Texas teams every single year. Just because more people go to the games that doesn't make the product on the field better. To the OP's point that a QB is going to be good in college because he played high school in Texas and won a championship is just asinine.
