Nice article on the pros and cons of all QBs on the rosters EXCEPT Mcmillian. Not sure why everyone sleeps on him so much, he is a true competitor and won the TX 6A state championship!! That's really the same caliber as a small college

If he sees any playing time, it is strictly because he is a gamer, which I don't doubt. But I think he is probably the least talented scholarship QB on my the roster.

Isn't there not a 6a in Texas?

ETA - I coached at a 5a high school in Louisiana and we easily defeated a 5A Texas defending state champion. Texas high school football is overrated.

Yes last year TX switched to having a 6A Div 1 and Div 2.

Lake Travis won D1
DeSoto took D2

You defeated a team that more than likely lost a majority of the players/leaders from a championship team and because of that, Texas football is overrated?

That makes a ton of sense....

Not sure why you would get down votes. People don't really know JM cause he's from TX, and was not "highly" recruited. I've watched this kid in multiple practices and scrimmages. He can play. Very quick and arm strength is comparable to BH (BH is stronger). Canada is going to like the physical tools.

I stopped reading after it said that Etling was a good deep passer and that Harris wasn't lol.

It wasn't a great evaluation even without the McMillan slight. The "con" on Harris is that he has trouble with deep throws?

I wouldn't worry about it. McMillan will be in the mix for backup to start the season and nothing is set in stone for the 2nd half of the season next year.

I don't think he will have much of a chance to play at LSU with the other guys here and the ones coming in.

It is relative to the money they spend on it and the population they have. Per capita Louisiana is better. I remember West Monroe blowing out defending Texas 5A champ Midland Lee 36-8 in 2000. That team had Eric Winston and Cedric Benson on it and think they were ranked #1 in the USA Today poll.

Why bother with a guy who will never play a down?

A friend with knowledge told me that he was really pushing Harris for the starting spot. But I guuses Les' loyalty/stubbornness made him go with Harris. Kids definitely got skills!

I'm not gonna shite on the kid but honestly thought the only reason we offered was bc we really wanted his receiver (DeMarkus Lodge)

It actually makes a shite load of sense. The OP said 6A (which actually didn't exist until last year. Therefore McMillian played in 5a) Texas football is like small college football. If so, a 5a team in Louisiana would stand no chance any year against a big Texas school. The truth is 5a football in Texas and Louisiana is very much the same. Therefore, McMillian is no more ready for the SEC than Thompson from Landry-Walker.

I think you probably do know why but maybe you disagree. But, in case you really don't it's because he wasn't rated very high coming out of high school. Didn't have an impressive offer list and isn't crawling up the depth charts at a school who's QB situation resembles a gutted fish that's been in the sun for 3 days.

Was a roster filler who had the benefit of having Demarcus Lodge as his receiver in highschool.

I dont think he even had another P5 offer.
Cam really was a shitty recruiter.
