Something must be going on with your connection. I signed up on launch day and after the initial issues with all of the new users I have had zero problems. I received the Apple TV and have been using it mostly hardwired but recently switched to wifi and it has been flawless.

My connection is perfectly fine. I think it is problems with their CDN. So it can be highly regional. I actually tried to run some captures on my network and see where the Akamai CDN box is that I am hitting. I got some very weird results though, like Franklinton, LA, which I find extremely doubtful.

I have the same problem, and I know it's not my connection or device because Netflix and WatchESPN work fine. It does seem to be getting better though. We only had a few pauses at the very end of the game last night.

I know it's not what you want to do, but if your watching sports, it's more reliable to watch it on watchespn or the foxsports app, usually, compared to Vue or whatever other streaming service.

We usually do (and had been using WatchESPN in the living room), but I hadn't downloaded it yet in the bedroom and was just about asleep when DTVN started messing up. Game was just about over and didn't feel like downloading and setting up the account at that point.

I fully expect DVR to be an add-on feature that costs extra. But maybe all the current and upcoming competition will keep them honest.

shite, for $40/month (HBO included) I'll pay a few extra $$s for DVR. Still WAYYYYY cheaper than Cox.

Is there an ETA on DirecTV Now getting DVR capability? I've been thinking about making the switch from Vue, but no DVR is the deal breaker right now.

I pulled the trigger on DTV Now with the prepaid 3-month service to get the Apple TV. Not sure why I did it, but f* it. I've tried and LOVED PS Vue, but this deal is too good to pass. I'm just hoping the connection/buffering issues get fixed.

The moment they raise the price on me later on is when I'll cancel and move to Vue.

I had been having pretty consistent issues... but since Sunday, I have had a rock solid, crystal clear, 60fps picture.

To piggy back on this issue, is Directv Now widely accepted on the TV Anywhere apps? I know PS Vue is valid on ~50 apps.

I haven't tried that many. It IS available on ESPN, all Disney apps and HBOGo. It is not available on the Nickelodeon family of apps or NBC Sports.

It's basically only available on the ABC family of apps and HBO.

They say more to come but who knows.

Prepay for Directv Now, get the Apple TV and $150 gift card and if you don't like it use the gift card to pay for Vue.

I don't know of an eta for dvr. I thought this was going to be an issue for me as well, but I have been able to find all my shows I dvr'ed on Kodi, so it really hasn't been an issue. Direct now will have no downside for me when they do add dvr.

I haven't tried vue, but I am more than happy with direct now. I wanted to make sure I didn't miss the intro rate so I went with now and got a fire stick. I have had very few issues other than minor buffering. Att just opened up gigapower in my hood so I'm gonna switch to the fiber network and I think that will take care of my issues. (I'm with spectrum Internet, formally time warner)

Locals have not been an issue for me, I don't watch them much, and have an antenna that picks them up clear anyway.

Overall I'm satisfied with directv now and I like it a lot more than the 200 bucks a month I was paying with traditional directv.

Where is the offer for the gift card? I have only seen the offer for the Apple TV and the intro price.
