LINK

Main points: He's cleaning house and bringing his UofH assistants with him. Aranda is his DC focus however UT is unlikely to match the pay increase

I believe Aranda will stay. Imo he will leave once the NFL comes calling... If I were in the same situation, I would ignore my former roommate where I will have to rebuild and stay at my current job and prove myself again

Alleva may get his bidding war with Texas after all...just not quite in the form which he expected.

ETA...that having been said, I think Alleva works very quickly to lock Aranda down and I think he stays here.

Pay Aranda whatever it takes. But Alleva doesn't like to get into bidding wars

Hate to say it but if it comes to a bidding war with that nutless alleva involved, we know he's gone.

This means Houston will want a coach that can build a staff. That's not Todd Orlando at this point in his career. We need Houston to hire someone who is a HC or has been already, and let's hope Herman sees Orlando as an almost equal, but cheaper option than Aranda.

I seriously doubt Aranda leaves after one season. He seems like a very level-headed guy who wouldn't want to bounce his family all across the USA for the same position with much less talent.

For those wondering about Jeff Traylor, the tight ends coach under Charlie Strong who was so successful recruiting in his native East Texas, Horns247 is reporting that Herman won’t retain Traylor or any other assistants from the Strong era.

Opportunity?

Aranda won't leave LSU yet. He will ride our sails until an actual upgrade is offered. UT isn't an upgrade right now. He's going to get an almost $1.5 million upgrade from Wisconsin in two years. Why would you leave LSU??

We must immediately walk away from Aranda at the first sign of a bidding war with Texas and promote a grad assistant to DC within 3 hours.

It is now the LSU way.

And that is why Alleva should have made Texas pay more for Herman, so they would think longer and harder about matching LSU for Aranda...

Bringing small school staff to the big school is somewhat of a red flag. Could work out but at Texas you want the best of the best.
