My father was 3-years-old and my mother wasn't born. So, I got nothing.

8th grade. St. Leo the Great catholic School, NOLa.
Sr. Mary Margaret announced the evil deed over the intercom. Sr. Mary Frances Therese left the room in tears. I'm sitting there stunned and some smart arse says." So that's where dad went today. "

I was in Kindergarten, near Flat Lake, LA.

Somehow, I wasn't shocked as I would commonly hear "I wish somebody would shoot that S.O.B".

I did see JFK in person when he visited New Orleans, rolling down Henry Clay Avenue in a convertible during a parade.

McDonnell Aircraft Company simulator lab in St. Louis, MO - running preliminary rendezvous scenarios for Project Gemini. Phones started ringing and word got out that something had happened in Dallas and then the switchboard was shut down.

I cut ties with a bunch of acquaintances who were cheering the possibility that JFK was dead. Turns out they were John Birch Society advocates. First time I had heard of that group.

Announcement care around noon over the PA that JFK was dead. No work was done the rest of the day. Sad weekend. Watched in real time as Ruby shot Oswald. Seeds of conspiracy were planted. My first thoughts were that LBJ was the ultimate evil behind the assassination. Still believe that, although I am convinced that Oswald was the lone shooter.

I was only 2 and a half so probably playing on Anderson Street, didn't get out much.

I do vaguely remember the TV coverage but didn't know what was going on.

I was on a temporary assignment in Brookline, Massachusetts, staying at the Brookline Motor Inn on Beacon Street very near Kennedy's childhood home. I'll never forget that day.
