Several NBA coaches/GMs say Alvin Gentry's coaching seat on fire in New Orleans. May be just matter of weeks, if not days, they believe.

Was a terrible hire to begin with. Anyone with half of a brain could see how this was going to turn out

If it's happening this early, it's probably a save the season hail mary from Demps trying to save his job, not Loomis getting ready to clean house.

I am disappointed with him and never wanted him. With that said, the guy is being dealt a raw hand much like Monty.

We are a team of one superstar and a bunch of mismatched parts, many of which have severe deficiencies.

I am actually struggling to name another team with a worse supporting cast then Davis has right now? Even when Jrue and Tyreke come back, you still have unanswered fit issues. This is just a bad, bad constructed roster.

If they get rid of Gentry this early, they have to be tanking the season.

OR he's close to losing the team and Demps knows he needs to get X wins by January/February when Loomis takes a break from the Saints and checks in across campus.

FWIW, Sam Amico is garbage at this type of stuff

I legitimately think he's batting .000 on his rumor mill scoops.

This Gentry thing is just something obvious that anyone could assume

Fire Demps along with him.

It would also look terrible to anyone outside the organization if Gentry was fired just as Holiday was coming back. That's not good for anyone, from the team attracting the next GM/HC to Demps getting another job in the future.

I'm not sure the rest of the league community sees jrue holiday as any kind of foundational piece. Yes they know his absence hurts but it's been a long time since he was relevant

if they want to fire gentry then they should do it regardless.
what would look bad is if they fired him and demps stays

Pull the trigger on both of them asap. If you can't win games with a top 5 player you deserved to get fired.

Was going to post that but was walking out of Dome.

Amico is generally considered the worst "insider" there is. He's almost always wrong.

Not a fan of Gentry, but Demps should be fired before Gentry is 100%. It's fricking stupid that he isn't. Even though Gentry isn't a great coach, it's not like he has much to work with thanks to stupid frick players Demps signs who are either not good or are injury prone as shite. Demps needs to hit the fricking road. I'm tired of this.
