Just need to handle him the same way we handled Johnny Goofball. Develop a stout pocket he can't get out of, blanket coverage on the receivers, and bring the delayed blitz up the middle.

And how many points were scored by the defense instead of the offense? Haven't they scored at least 1 defensive touchdown every game this year?

Hurts is the one QB you don't blitz.

You won't keep him in the pocket. They do much drop back passing with him. Lots of roll outs and designed QB runs

If he does, we better stop him. I'd hate for him to step up into the pocket or side step the defenders and take off for 30+ yard gains. Honestly, I don't trust any of our linebackers to spy him in this game. Hurts is pretty damn shifty and swift.

We should put LF7 as the spy LB. Hurts can't outrun him.

People are underestimating their RBs this year. Harris is a damn good RB, quick and strong. Definitely a top 5 back in the league. Jacobs is a great change of pace guy and Scarborough is a beast.

I haven't seen DL stand up and pace around to confuse the defense either. My body is ready to see it.

Mickey Mouse offense that has won them 20 straight. Smart comment.

While it's certainly not a "little Mickey Mouse offense", the defense/special teams have scored 12 TDs this season, so that's 84 points.

Still a solid offense over 30ppg, but not a top 10 scoring "offense" in the nation, the title of that graph/stat is misleading.

This! I was telling a gump friend of mine that in order for LSU to have a chance the DL has to focus more on keeping Hurts in the pocket than actually trying to sack him. If they are able to sack him that's gravy but it's more important to keep him in the pocket and make him make a throw than letting him get loose.

I know there are a lot of irrational homers on this board, and yes, Kiffin is a douche, but come on.

Kiffin is a fantastic OC and runs a very good offense at Alabama. Hell, he reached the playoffs with Blake Sims, won the NC with Jake Coker, and is undefeated this year with yet-another first year starter at QB (this time a true freshman).

So yes, Kiffin's a tool, but a top-notch OC. Anybody who denies that is just blinded by Bama-hate.

Blitz could be a mistake. This QB will just run past it and pick up the 1st with his feet. I say let the D Line play containment and let the Freshman beat us by throwing from the pocket.

We haven't really needed to blitz much

I'm more concerned about bama taking more chances going deep, something few teams have tried to do.
