Attended a social function this week:

Conversation revealed strong support for Coach O if he continues his current trend. Not necessary to win out.

Process continues with other top candidates but it appears from this source the job is CEO's to lose.

Wasn't at the event but I did listen to the Coach O show last night. I forgot exactly what it was in reference to - maybe someone saying they hope he got the job permanently - and O said he hopes so too and got an ovation from the audience.

I don't know if it was a standing ovation since it was on the radio but it was the only time I have heard the crowd react like that to anything at a coaches show.

Gordy and Hanagriff were saying last night about how O is doing everything right as far as cultivating the people who matter as far as influencing the decision. Transparency with the administration and the press, reaching out to boosters and former players. He spoke to the New Orleans Quarterback Club this week. They said he was the first LSU HC to do that since 1977.

Did they tell you how they know what they know? Or just what they know? Cause the how is more important. Otherwise youre asking me to trust the discernment of a person who the only thing i know is that they had dinner with you (another person i dont know).

its hard to blame them at this point. O has pushed every single right button. He has corrected the Les Miles issues. Just from what we have seen publicly its hard to not have confidence that O has a very well developed plan for how to get the program to competing again.

Said the other day it will be Orgeron no matter what happens next.

LSU sees it as an opportunity to save $$$ and they like the coach has a down the bayou accent.

THAT > best candidate possible

If true, our "high level supporters" have low level intellects. In any event, how would any of them truly know Alleva's intentions? They don't. And they can't. They're just speculating, whomever they are.

if he doesn't win out he needs to have only one loss and look damn good in said loss. he is literally coaching for a job right now - if he drops two games then he doesn't get the job.

That's why people with actual information don't like to post here. 756 possibly brings us true information, but many of you choose to insult him because it's not what you want to hear.

Let's say O is named next Thurs, then this turns into a Coach Chavis debacle in BR with Lane! That would be a great move with the media! Lane will be center of attention and speculation! And Saban will flip his lid.

If he beats Alabama he's going to be the coach, IMO.

Probably even if we lose to aTm and don't win the West.
