Mett was pretty fricking great however
Mett had a great senior year, but he wasn't very good his junior year. He had a three game stretch during the meat of our schedule where he didn't even complete 50% of his passes. However, Mett's game against Bama that year was one of the best performances any QB had during the Les Miles era considering the level of the defense he was playing. We lost, but he was on fire.

I really like the kid , he's made some really big time throws and was placed into a pretty rough situation. Super high expectations, a team with coaching turmoil. At the same time , he was a thrown into a situation surrounded by stellar athletes and he's take advantage of it. He's made mistakes but he doesn't let it get to him . Team definitely rally's around him, plays noticeably harder compared to the Harris days imo.

He just seems to be one of those putzes that play the odds and only come up with an original thought once a season because they pretty much can't call the favorites for every game.
In other words, LSU most likely will not win an NC this or next year so why not say it? At the same time he will predict Bama to win every week without hesitation.

Moscona needs to blow his shows format up and start over. It's the same thing day after day, week after week. His best hour is with Theriot and he destroys it by trying way too hard to be boys with Ryan.
I've gotten sick of Russ Mitchell too.

Bree's has to tip toe to see over the line, he seems to do pretty good
Brees height actually works to his advantage. He doesn't require a super wide stance to get the ball out quick and accurately. He obviously knows where to put the ball, but he can do that in a small pocket.
Look at Brock Osweiler, he's 6-8, blows arse, and can't work in a pocket well and gets happy feet. Why? Because he needs a lot of room to plant his feet and get out a good throw. If he doesn't have a large pocket,he's making awkward half arse throws without much zip to them. Doesn't matter how strong you are, a guy planting his feet vs a guy standing straight up throwing is a huge difference.

but he wont be making any amazing long throws in tight coverage like Zach M gave us.
Fortunately, Etling won't have to do that often if ever because of actual play design and game planning.

quote:This is incredibly accurate. Sometime around when he got the NOLA market his show went to shite. I live in Shreveport so I have the 104.5 app. I listen to Culotta & The Fan and Sports Today damn near everyday. I was driving through BR today and couldn't get through 10 min of AFR. Ill listen to the damn Finebaum show before I listen to Matts crap.
His show just isn't the same. Maybe it's because Carley is so negative and he tries to show off for her. I travel the nation for work and his show was as good as anything out there. I would download every show I missed and play while on the road. Now I can barely listen.
ETA: He had Bregman on last week and asked "Why did you suck your first month in the league?" I thought that was way over the top and showed poor professionalism. Bergman responded "It was like a week and I wouldn't say I sucked."
Either he thinks he's that big time that he can say shite like that to Bregs or he was desperately trying to be boys with Bergman. Either way it came off as awkward and sad.

Does anyone actually like Macona?
I typically enjoy his show until he starts his standard loud and high-pitched rants.
When I'm leaving work, the last thing I want to hear is some maddening buffoon shrieking to the top of his lungs.

Because Moscana is confused about what it really takes to be a good college QB surrounded by the amount of play makers LSU has on its roster. He only needs to be a "point guard" that makes good decisions and gets the ball in the hands of the best athletes to score. He just doesn't need to personally make any big plays for LSU to win. Unfortunately the uneducated fans and blow hards like moscana just don't get that.

I'm not saying this guy is Tom Brady but I I think he is one of the best qb we have had since Flynn.

Cool breakdown, but what do you mean by "Passing Vision"? It would seem like you're talk about read progressions, then you have progression next in line. you don't get rocked in the pocket like he has with "A" pocket presence.

Color me how you may, but it seams eons since we've had a qb that doesn't stare down one receiver (works through his progressions), as simple as that sounds & has a little pocket presence. Will step up in the pocket when he feels pressure and make an accurate throw. Simple as that sounds , we haven't had that in a LONG TIME.

I think mett was better than Flynn but I also think etling will be better than Flynn by the time his sr. Year is done.

I'm content with that.

We've dominated everyone since O took over so u really have to look at Etling in the first half maybe thru 3 quarters because with big leads we just really run the football. Bottom line is he's been great when the gsme is in ? And we need scoring drives. Not perfect but minus auburn on the road who has a dominant defense he's been solid. He's getting better and better each week as well. His arm is average but he's improving and making plays when we need him to. His qb rating under O is 3rd in the sec.
