Yes. A vet will likely tell you to put the dog on chicken and rice for a week or two. If it clears up then it's something you feed it. If not, it might be stress. Those type of dog get separation anxiety.

sometimes give him beef brisket, or sweet potatoes, or a Walker's shortbread cookie when he's off his food. Could that cause the runny bowels?

Seriously?? You feed him this shite and then wonder why he has the runs????? Dayum. Stick to his regular food and treats. He'll eat that when he's hungry enough. brisket and shortbread??????? No. Just no.

ETA oh and get the dog fixed, please!!!!

Could be. we had the same issue she was not having solid stools for like 2 weeks. Nothing wrong with her we used the nutro puppy brand and then she started having solid stools. Long as you get him checked out and he is fine might just be finding the right food.

WTF is this shite?

When did dogs go from essentially wolves who ate the scraps from our camp to wussy little things that need gluten free dog food?

This world is screwed up.

My dogs ate old Roy and table scraps and were fine.

Ate their own poop too.

If something can eat its own poop it doesn't need special food.

Mine goes outside when she wants but she lays on the couch and jumps up on the bed when she wants also. My Gf and I lost our last golden (she was 12 years old) on Christmas day last year she wasn't allowed on the couch or bed. Let's just say this one is spoiled

Maybe I'm missing something, but what does a GIF about a dandy Brit looking couple have to do with this conversation about DOGS????!

We had a dog that slept inside when I was young. Loved that dog. Doberman.

All the rest were mutts. Great dogs. Not fancy. Low maintenance.

A lot of the dogs today...you'd think they'd die real quick if they didn't have all kind of special stuff.

I miss my dog.

All my human kids are in their teens and don't need dad as much now. My Gf and I just have our furry child to raise now. Thanks

Dint feed your dog people food. Take the dog to the vet. Probiotics may help.
Figure out if the poor dog is having anxiety.
