He has much better pocket presence than Harris.

BTW... How bad would Harris have been roasted for the botched handoff to Fournette??? Or the fact that 22 seconds passed on the play call at the end. Happy it's Etling under center, but our problems still exist.

Etling completed 11 passes to wide receivers for a grand total of 79 yards. I wouldn't call that a good takeaway from the game. LSU attempted one more pass than Auburn during the game, and got half the yardage. Some of it was play calling, but the QB shares some of the responsibility as well. Etling did not play well.

He is a gamer, a smart QB. I don't know who could QB behind that offense of Line. He makes smart decisions and has good awareness in the pocket. Hard to trust wide receivers when they drop the ball so much, thus getting in a rhythm.

Etling maybe the qb next year out of necessity but if he is the qb in 2018 we are in deep shite as a program

Yeah, running fly patterns when we needed 5-6 yards for a first, I-formation on 1st and 25, etc.

Does LSU not have access to those sticky WR gloves that every other school seems to have?

He is marginally better than Harris. Just another season of marginal QB play from LSU.

Maybe. But that's not how I saw it. I saw an O line that couldn't protect the QB and Etling performed about as well as anyone could have, except for a couple of inaccurate throws.

Look I like Harris, and feel bad for the way he's been coached, but with him in the game it's not even close. LSU loses by a lot more.

Harris doesn't make that throw on the last play. He zings it thirty rows deep into the stands.

You give him 10 throws exactly like that he completes 1.

BH was ready to go last night, and IMHO, he should've gone in. I think DE got rocked and it took a while for him to get his game face back on.

Then again, we're talking about the same coaches who put in a broken LF who just had to get helped off of the field to "trick" Auburn. Turns out, a kid with a bum leg can't move

Etling really isn't that good. And he's really bad behind an atrocious o-line, as evidenced last night.

He disappears in the second half.

Why don't they sub in Harris in the second half? He plays better coming off the bench.

If Harris would have been standing around waiting on the referee to call the illegal shift penalty instead of lining his guys up for a snap, this place would have lost its collective mind at his lack of awareness.

that's not the QB's fault, it's the coaches.

Yes, at least he's a gamer and wants to be out there and win. Sometimes it seemed like Etling, Fournette and Beckwith were the only two players who cared.

Riley, Key, Guice, White, Moore, even the TEs. I don't think effort was the issue.

I'd like to add one thing to your comments. This is not the first time LSU has encountered dirty play by an Auburn ball club. The Aub player thrown out for the helmet/crown blow to Etling was concurrent with a "just as" blatant intentional scraping by another Aubbie's facemask across Etling's face. This is where the busted lip came from.

The commentators brought it out and even remarked as I recall that it was worse. Just a question here; Was this not eligible for a call as part of the review of the helmet/crown strike to Etling?

and yes I do realize that we are not sometimes guilty of personal fouls. Auburn just has a habitual tendency to intentionally injure folks as far back as I can remember...remember Nick whateverthefuchisnamewas.
