I know there is a lot of criticism on Miles and it is well deserved.
But there is one more takeaway from the game.
You have to be impressed with Etling.
He was just ruined on that play, I don't know how he wasn't concussed, but with a bloody and bruised up face he went back in the game and almost won it for us.
I know he made a key mistake with the fumble and he wasn't anywhere near perfect, but you have to admire his toughness. If the play were to have stood as called, I guarantee you this would have been an iconic game for Etling.

He is marginally better than Harris. Just another season of marginal QB play from LSU.

He played good on last drive. No receivers were open the whole game. He did have a couple key mistakes. The sack before the missed field goal and the fumble was big.

If Harris would have been standing around waiting on the referee to call the illegal shift penalty instead of lining his guys up for a snap, this place would have lost its collective mind at his lack of awareness.

Second start at LSU and first road game in the SEC. I thought he did okay. I see potential to be good once he gets more game experience.

And yes I know he started at Perdue.

I love Danny Etling! Great play at the end of the game to almost win it for us.

It just takes Miles a little time to turn them into the scared little boy he enjoys having under center.

I like Etling.

I feel sorry for him that he plays for Miles offense.

He will likely have a mediocre season under Miles and then get to spend his senior year in a rebuilding program under a new coach in 2017.

Eh, I was pissed no matter who it was. That's mostly on the coaches. Still doesn't change the fact that Etling is a better play maker.

Both he and Harris deserve our respect. These guys are a very difficult position as the lightening rod for a failed coaching staff.

Yes, at least he's a gamer and wants to be out there and win. Sometimes it seemed like Etling, Fournette and Beckwith were the only two players who cared.

i'm not impressed with either qb and really don't care who it is. after we lose 5+ games this season, it won't matter. hopefully the next head coach sorts this out.

Etling is just fine in my book. Coaches need to help him by giving him better playcalls to succeed.. Like when thr pass rush is killing him don't run 20 yard routes. Quick screens and slants to get the ball out. Too bad they don't know any better

The last play was an example of what happens when you give the players the reigns. Crazy shite, but they worked together to make that play happen as far as I'm concerned. They shouldn't have been looking to the sidelines for directions, but that's what the coaches have trained them to do.

IDGAF if the snap didn't get off in time. It was a good throw by DE, a good shove by LF7, and a good catch by Chark

REALLY?? HE HELPED TO CREATE THE DAMN HOLE!
Now you pat him on the back for being scrappy?

Lest see:

-70 yards passing in the 1st half 100 total yds passing
- Near pic on the post route
- over throws and pass behind TE and WR
- Fumble in a critical drive
- snaps the ball on the penalty before he made sure his WR were set.

He played hard YES. He played poorly!

Watching his post game interview, I think he's the guy for 2016 and maybe 2017 as well. He's a leader.
