Forgot about the constant paging for those doctors.

And the Ole Miss games were crazy. Add Tulane to that also. There were always fights. Maybe all the piped in entertainment cut the fights out??? You hardly see the fights now days.

I remember putting beat downs on teams and not worrying about where it was going to land on ESPN's coverage for the night. Back then, that was for Sunday mornings, fighting with the old man for the Advocate's sports page to soak it all up.

To tell you the truth, the last really big game I can remember where Tiger Stadium was rocking on all cylinders was when LSU beat Bama in Nick's first year here. That's not t say there weren't bigger games or really special moments, but the last game is remember where the electricity in that place could light up a mid sized city for at least the next couple of hours.

And the kids today would even know what to think if they could have experienced AU in 87, or my Lord, the USC game. WOW... What a game.

Closest I can personally claim is the Ole Miss game in 2006. The game was on TigerVision, Was rocking flip phone with no internet data plan (and absolutely no signal in stadium), social media was mostly primitive and we still had the old scoreboards

Yes, if you mean the real night games that began at 7:30 and ended around 10:00.

No need to use no huddle - hurry up to wear out the other team because play did not stop.

(I do not miss the cheerleaders having control of the PA system)

The Ole Miss game 2 years ago was electric. I couldn't hear for a couple of days.

Several Bama games have been pretty awesome

1982 Florida State at LSU. The field turned orange with oranges. "please do not throw anything onto the field".

I also remember a gentleman in the Northeast End Zone with a megaphone yelling "Tiger Bait" dang near non-stop at every game.

I can deal with the play stoppage..I can even deal with the GBTL being moved closer to me...but I want the recorded music to stop...and the guys who originated it...pick the shite..and play it...to be hung..halftime..LSU-Alabama...midfield...that will bring the fun back

That game was amazing.

The play stops for commercials aren't that bad. Old fricks are just bitching about current year. What else is new

Yes they are, 4 1/2 hour games are ridiculous. Players stand around with no action every possession change, etc. It makes for a bad product. Factor in our all day tailgating, boring offense and long games, and I say thats why people leave early. If the action happened quicker with less breaks then I think more people would last the whole game.

How come the nfl gets its games done in 3 hours week in and week out? Its a better experience with less breaks in action. If the ncaa could ever come together and make 3 hour college games a reality, then I support it.

Didn't miss many home games from '64 to '92. I remember 7:30 start times and getting home by 10:30 without leaving early. TV games in that period were magical in TS, and the timeouts were few and far in-between.

I moved far,far away from BR in the Spring of '93 but hope to see another home game before I die. LSU football under the lights in TS is the best!

People who leave early are a joke. We only get so many of these games a year, and for those of us out of town, we're lucky to make it down for one a year. Leaving early is for shitty fans.

Kevin-Faulk-led LSU won, 43-13. With about a couple minutes left, Kentucky was driving.

A meaningless play but Faulk grabs a one handed catch spins with it and picks up and extra 10. Pretty sure UK had Trent Couch as QB

in the 80s there was some guy who would type a five word synopsis of each play and it would scroll across the scoreboard. that's all there was as far as replays go. it was like the flinstones compared to the dual mini-jumbotron system they blast now

So many great LSU games from the past but my first memories of an great LSU game experience was:

1980 LSU vs Auburn: LSU won 21-17 on a great football game but all I remember was whileleaving the stadium all the LSU fans exiting, on the ramps, had the L,S,U chant echoing through underneath the stadium. It stuck with me.

then

1982 LSU vs FSU: The Orange bowl game! That was a great experience as a kid as well..

Have seen some wonderful ballgames in TS since the 1960s. Teams like ND, USC and some fabulous athletes.

No upper decks, no tailgating, no television feeds, precious few day games, the smell of bourbon, stadium lights enveloped in tobacco smoke, a program/bag of peanuts/a pennant, the GBFT, sitting in seats where you knew the people around you.

It was different back then, no better/no worse, just different

Crap? Most of the "fans" are gone by halftime. Is this why they leave?

if you only make it to one game a year you should stfu about what a shitty fan is. plenty of "superfans" in here that attend one game a year and are like "I stay til the end blah blah blah yall all suck as fans b/c you leave early". Well maybe if you went to 7 games a year rather than 7 a decade you would leave early also.
