I've looked into getting mine removed but was told that I would be stuck laying on my stomach for up to six weeks

For me it was a week. I had my incision stitched up, but it was done by a plastic surgeon using a new technique. Something about the way they angle the incision reduces the tension. They will have to put a drain in for a week.

Worked out perfect

pretty sure the color was due to iodine that was applied prior to the removal

Have your Dr. get you a home health nurse to come change the bandage every morning. My insurance covered most of it. All i did was eat percocet and watch the wire all day for 3 weeks.

More disgusting than the removal of the contents of the cyst or the sac was the lack of sterile technique. I wonder how this guy made out in the days following.

I had an abscess on my arm and had a friend of mine who is an RN lance it for me. It looked like a chocolate Wendy's frosty coming out and left a small hole big enough you could stick the tip of your pinky in.

When she hit the cyst or abscess or whatever with the razor blade it hurt like holy hell (and I as highly medicated before she began) for a split second and then instant relief.

After squeezing all the frosty out she dressed it and then She packed it with some of that accordion type gauze and changed it out a few times until it healed. Scar is hardly noticeable.

I have pics but I'm too lazy to load them online and post them. Besides, it pales it comparison to the stuff on YouTube.

Had mine completely removed. It took about 9 weeks to totally heal because it had to close from the inside out.
Due to the size of the incision there was no way they could stitch it. I did have to change the gauze 3 or more times a day but the gap was so big it was easy. After about 3-4 days I was able to sit just fine.

Prior to having the surgery I had it lanced 4 times because of infection and that was the most pain I've ever had. Although the recovery sucked, the only thing I regret is not getting the surgery done sooner.

Hey bro. I asked and he said he usually stitches it shut after. Would it be better to leave it open?

You got yours removed completely right? How was the recovery process?

ow are they going to do it? Are they just lancing it or are they totally cutting it out?

Just going to cut it out...mine never really got infected to where it needed to be lanced.

I could probably not get the surgery and continue to live a decent life, but it's annoying and limits things I can do. I just hope it doesn't get infected or something after and require additional surgery. Like it doesn't make my life worse than if I were to not do it.

I'd suggest removing it asap. There may be a risk of blood poisoning if you don't.
