Agreed, but like always, he found a way to say something obvious in the most oblivious way possible.

Maybe y'all are not reading what he said in the proper context because what I'm getting out of his comment is that "November was a good learning experience for everybody" which it was given most of the players and coaches who experienced that last year is still on the team now.

The part quoted in the OP simply said it was a good thing.

Good stuff comes out of objectively bad situations all the time. But you don't get to say that the objectively bad thing was "good", and it appears that's what he said.

Reasons you don't get to say that:
- it's untrue
- it's completely unfair to Miles who was objectively poorly treated in that situation. Miles I am sure has moved past it, but it's for him to say that, and not for Alleva to ever assume.
- it gives the impression that Alleva didn't learn from it and doesn't acknowledge his mistakes.

And if he said "November was awful and embarrassing, but I think some good has come out of it", that would be totally fine and truthful.

He's talking about a wake up call and putting a foot in Les' arse you bunch of short sighted morons.

Again, if he doesn't change, after last November and I'm sure a few "Come to Jesus" meetings, Les sees writing on the wall.

If he doesn't, that's his fault and he will be fired.

Have any of you ever been in the boss' office before?

No problem with what he said.

You know, it seems like the most distressed folks on this board over shite like this have the least amount of real life kicking you in the butt.

Just my observation

last November turns into an SEC championship this season, then I'll agree.

We could win 3 in a row and November still wouldn't have been good for Alleva. He's our weak spot.

What?? Isn't the correct page to win every game or win an SECW title or win SEC or not lose 3 straight to end the season. So now they are on the same page to not do this??? What???

At least we know where we are. A meddling short sighted president, a board that haven't a clue, a bumbling AD, and an entrenched coach.

Considering how its been well documented that Arranda was who Les wanted LAST year I guess Alleva getting pushed around in his coup was a wake up call and he stepped out of the way. Where would we be right now if if this was year 2 of the defense and we didnt have the lost year with steele?

Who put the staff together?

Joe ultimately screwed us by doing what he though was right with the handcuffed DC hire of Steele.

everyone has to admit that this was one of the better offseasons we have had, which maybe could be attributed to last November?

we'll never know, of course, but I can see the possibility, even the probability, that Alleva's right. the air needed to be cleared and not just between Alleva and Miles. it's obvious that some of the "higher ups" that actually influence LSU football were very frustrated with Miles and willing to pput their money where their mouth was. the deal fell through and i'm not at all buying that the plug was pulled by Alexander. it's possible but it also could have been a face saving "scene".

whether he's right or not the real important thing is that it appears we have an administration and HC that are working together to make LSU the best they can be. I think the air will be clear for awhile if we have a real successful year this year.

That was my point. Alleva in a dumb failed season long coup attempt wasted an entire season handcuffing Les' moves

Any good manager would know to keep internal affairs internal. The leaked public information and Alleva's refusal to give any statement supporting his staff in the face of reports directly from members of the Board was absolutely amateurish. A good CEO knows how to put a lid on this kind of management shake-up until all the cards are in place.

If Les would have got the ax, Alleva would have got it also. Too much money would have gone down the drain getting rid of Les. IMO
