November sent the message to sidewalk anti-Miles people that their opinions don't matter. They were put in their place, and right after about two weeks of "We've almost raised the $16million buyout" talk.

That is good for everybody.

It may have been good for Les and the fans if we see some change, but for Alleva to say it was good for him....Christ almighty

He's implying he learned something last November. Which is idiotic, considering he should already know how to manage these things.

Well if it actually churns out a championship and the offense all of a sudden looks diverse and crisp along with a great defense he may be right here.

How many times has he been in a situation where a coach as successful as Miles is on the hot seat?

How many times has anyone been in that position?

Answer: less than 20 times ever.

Do not care. He makes $725,000 a year. $14,000 per week to be able to handle situations like this. It was mishandled from the beginning and should have never made it's way to the public that there was ever any consideration of Miles being let go. Point blank.

Make as many excuses for him as you want, but it doesn't change the fact that this was a blunder of the highest order.

Any good manager would know to keep internal affairs internal. The leaked public information and Alleva's refusal to give any statement supporting his staff in the face of reports directly from members of the Board was absolutely amateurish. A good CEO knows how to put a lid on this kind of management shake-up until all the cards are in place.

He's a clown and needs to be fired. How he was hired to begin with is beyond me.

blunder
Nah. Since this episode, the program has won twice, retained one of the 25 best coaches in the history of the college game, and has done a bang-up recruiting job and is better than they were last year.

The blunder was the attempt by nobodies to buy Les out.

The money was there, whether you want to believe it or not. What happened happened, now let's move on, the 2016 season starts in 72 hours.

You can stop saying this, because it's just untrue.

That's what makes this so enjoyable for me. All that work, only to be told that the opinions of those who want a man fired that damn bad mean jack shite. I loved it.

Geaux Tigers! Geaux Les!

Every time Alleva speaks he reveals what a jerk he truly is. LSU will be much better off without this monarch.

Agreed. But if you think last year was bad, all it will take is 1 L before everyone and their mother is wondering if Miles will be fired. ESPN is preying on that loss like a hawk.

Alleva communicating the sense of urgency to Miles in a private manner would have had the same effect. At the end of the day, he doesn't want to get fired. It doesn't take being lambasted on every major sports news outlet in the country to get that point across.

Blunder.

Where are all the folks that have been bashing me for saying Alleva is incompetent? There are MANY, MANY, MANY more people who would like to see Alleva gone , than those who want him to stay!! Reality!!

I dont see the big deal. I take it to mean - "The hardships we endured and 'corrected' have now put us in a much better place".

And at face value, he's correct. Maybe it wasn't worth it, but we are 100% in a better position than we were last year.

I love Les. I'm glad Les is here. It's been a phenomenal off season. Alleva can frick a goat and so can anyone else that blindly supports someone just because they work for LSU.

They'll be the ones making the next hire. Hell, they're the ones that had Jimbo lined up.
