I'm interested in this. Seems like a pretty cool premise, although I feel like it has the potential to get old after not too long. I am hoping for good things.

Everything I read saying there is a huge secret that the blind man has, and the reveal is shocking, I just want to know what it is, but I cannot find it anywhere. Obviously spoilerish as hell. I'll eventually go see it. Probably at home with the lights on in the daytime with the windows open and a radio playing in the background for distraction. cause i'm a pussy with movies like this.

****SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING*******

You find out early on the guy has 300 grand because he got it in a settlement when his daughter was killed in a car accident. Turns out 300 grand wasn't enough because he kidnapped the girl that caused his daughter to die and impregnated her so he can have another daughter. The way he does this is gross and funny at the same time (artificially) and because he tries to do it to the girl robber after she dies.

I'm really excited to see it as soon as possible. Looks like a genius horror concept and hopefully the twist makes sense. It must not be bad though given the reviews

The trailer made me think of something I had never thought of before:

Do blind people who live alone own lamps, or use lights?

Seems senseless to have lights. I've always wondered what blind people (those blind from birth) dream about. Do they see images?

I don't understand why they opened the movie with the scene they used, it ruined the surprise of the last death

I saw this movie on Saturday. To me, there were only a couple of jumpy/scary parts. It was more suspenseful than scary. I did start feeling a little bit of dread when the secret was revealed because I didn't want the movie to go down that path. Somebody said it was rated a hard R and I assume it's because of that one scene that almost made me throw up.

Haven't seen this, but I want to (as evidenced earlier in the thread ). Am I the only one who thinks it's fricking stupid for them to be now advertising this movie with shite like "With a twist so big, you'll be shocked.." and that kinda talk?

It sucks that they are basically ruining that there is a twist. I saw a commercial for this yesterday, and when I heard that I was like well that's stupid...now when I see it I'll be waiting for "the huge twist" the whole damn time.

I am going to assume it had to do with a instrument used for thanksgiving turkey?

Just watched this movie last night. I thought it was excellent, and i'm a pretty tough critic when it comes to the horror type movies.

I'm not generally a fan of supernatural type horror films, so this one was perfect for me. Using bombed out detroit as a backdrop is always a fantastic idea.

Surprised this movie isn't getting more love on here, unless I missed a big thread about it.

SPOILERS & QUESTIONS...

What was the black stuff he covered the dead girl in (oil?), and was that compartment built in beneath the floor? that freaked me out.

I got a Tusk vibe from this movie. Not as stupid as Tusk, but once you get to the twists...

How did it start? (I got there right when they were about to break into the house.)

ETA: Never mind. I just read the Wiki synopsis.

Not great but not awful either. I agree with an above poster that the first scene of the movie shouldn't be in it,

I went and saw this today and really enjoyed it.

There were plenty of plot holes or just odd choices that had me scratching my head. Like, why does the guy keep $300,000 or more in his house and not a bank? Sure, it can be explained but it seemed convenient for the plot. Also wondering how the guy got the girl over to his house so many years later, anyway. That was never explained. She went there alone and never told anyone she was going? Or am I to believe a blind man managed to kidnap her?

The twist was not nearly as shocking as I was expecting. I knew he had a girl locked up in the basement from a trailer I saw so I quickly figured out who she was. The pregnant part was just a little extra but not some huge twist.

And I also agree, the first scene was not a good choice. There was just no reason to show that.
