If all the christians disappeared in a blink of an eye it wouldn't confirm the validity of the Bible? What would have to happen Jesus letting you put your finger in the holes in his hands/wrists?

Couldnt imagine what that family went through when they saw that. That has to stick with them and the people who witnessed it for a long long time. One of the more gruesome deaths I've read about. I'm still trying to figure out how that netting decapitated the kid.

If it means eternal damnation, then no. Not that hard of a decision.

Oh, it's coming . . . and soon. Glenn Beck told me.

In answer to the question, no, no I wouldn't.

The mark of the beast is already here....and we are all using it right now.

Well think about it. If the rapture happened today that would confirm that the bible is true

I still don't think that would confirm anything for me

So you're saying that if the rapture happened then this super-natural world leader emerged who required on pain of death every man, woman, and child take his "mark", you'd still be unconvinced even then?

Jews didn't get a choice. You probably wouldn't either.

From what I understand (and hopefully others can clarify if I'm wrong) the rapture will be only those who have accepted Christ along with children.

Well I think it would be safe to say..I'd be surprised if 50% of people who identify as Christian would go..

there are a lot more americans living in many different places of the country. Would be harder to round everyone up so easily. Many would still die, but that's the point I guess. All the risk for a belief.

It's not quite going to happen like that. You know those books aren't based on anything biblical, right?

They actually misinterpret parts from the book of Daniel as well. Read up on how the Left Behind authors cane to their conclusions, some seriously impressive mental gymnastics going on.

Darth, come on man, I thought you studied shite like this. You know there's nothing in the bible about this pretty recent mythology right?

I wasn't talking about the bible. I was talking about what those who believe in the rapture think will happen.

ETA: which if you study the bible, while it does not mention the word "rapture", there are plenty of verses that indicate something will happen in the end times. What that something is, is open to debate.

ETA II: Here's the verses that I believe many point to as proof there will be a "rapture"...

quote:

1 Thessalonians 4:16 - For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

1 Thessalonians 4:17 - Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Does that use the word "rapture"? No. Does that sound a whole lot like what the "rapture" is supposed to be? Many would say it does.

It wouldn't make any difference now if you'd been left behind, so why not?
