If your mother is an NP then she is a highly educated woman. Why don't you discuss some of this stuff with her. If she's anything like my mother, she would probably slap the shite out of you.

I can promise that she doesn't enjoy the idea of welfare leeches anymore than the OT does.

Designate a Hamsterdam, build a wall around it, and I'd go along with that part. Trump, are you listening?

Your mother is a smart woman. You should listen to her. When the haves have to foot the bill for the have nots who will never - society starts crumbling.

When I saw this story this morning, I was like WTF? Didn't they get 40 acres and a mull back in the day?

Let's assume you are correct. If a culture has values that lead to the state of Africa that it is in today, I'd suggest some reorientation of values is long overdue.

Actually, anyone with a working knowledge of social contract theory can understand that European civilizations succeeded largely due to an understanding of stewardship of land and progressive economic principles. African civilizations didn't (and still don't--see the oil wars in Nigeria) because of a lack of civil government and authority control.

Are you saying that African civilizations value different things than European civilization? If so, how do you come to that conclusion? Just as European history is the story of different European peoples warring and trying to impose their will on other European people, likewise is the story of Africa. African sub-groups do just as European sub-groups do, namely they war with and try to overtake their neighbors in order to advance their own group's civilization. In fact, African sub-groups have done this longer than their European counterparts and continue to do it even today.

That being the case, why is it that the tools and implements developed by Africans to wage war and/or expand their own reach and power is still basically Iron (or even stone) Age technology even today?

It's not that they "value different things" as you say because history shows us clearly Africans have the same motivations and desires as their European counterparts. Thus, my original question still stands. How did the Europeans get so far ahead?

Real answer: They developed superior weapons at the ideal time to conquer further than humans had ever been able to attempt before.

Had the Mongols begun their conquests from a more western start point, Europe (and likely most of NW/Central Africa) would have been decimated. Those fools didn't play.

All comes down to timing.

That price has already been paid by the shedding of blood.

Those that believe this to be a fine idea, pony up their assets/estates...I've paid more than enough thru social welfare initiatives

When those who sold their own countrymen into slavery are billed first, then the shipping parties second, then the traders of such third, then the owners of slaves fourth, then and only then bring this bad idea before the American people

Most definitely. BfA is probably my favorite all time podcast. I've listened to it in its entirety about 4 times now.

You should check out either Ghosts of the Ostfront or Punic Nightmare next
