Why are black tennis shoes so popular with the oldies?

I only see the elderly wearing these. Is there a reason?

those aren't "tennis" shoes those are orthopedics and most are either black or white and the white ones look like nurses' shoes so their is only one option.

My courts allow for 90% white clothing (shoes included)

As already stated, most of those shoes you see are diabetic shoes.

They only have a limited number of options to choose from, so most patients just go with black. Tan is also popular.

Oldies? I noticed just a few weeks ago that nearly every white, Asian, and especially Hispanic male under 25 in LA (the real one) wears black tennis and bball shoes.
