I would assume numbers were lower for yesterday's games, which is a shame considering the seismic results by comparison to the other 6 matches.

Can all of these guys move to Fox in two years? The coverage just seems effortless. Watch the games, talk about the games, add a few neat stories and let the football speak for itself.

ESPN coverage beats the frick out of fox. The Euros didn't have us watching replays while an attack was going on.

ESPN's coverage kicks arse for the most part. Visually it's like FOX is throwing out some shite from 1995.

Martinez and Kompany are phenomenal. Ballack has gotten way better. Frank Lebouf is pretty solid. If they would fire Twellman, Foudy, and Burley, they would be set. I think they already shitcanned Wambach.

Fox does a pretty good job with NFL, it blows my mind how they can be so terrible with soccer.

The US Open was abysmal too. Felt like I was watching the Pro-Am at the Phoenix Open, not a storied event like the US.

They rely far too heavily on gimmicks instead of showcasing the quality of the product they are broadcasting. The quality of the announcers ESPN uses is generally far superior, though Fox did trot a couple of good ones out there.

Credit where due, Aly Wagner did a good job and may have been their best pundit imo.

Not to mention for the last 6 months half of their live sporting events have this awful glitch going on the entire game.

I also disagree on the premise that Fox does a good job on the NFL.

They don't.

Fox at least needs to hire Maca to do English games for the World Cup. I really get a kick out of him laying into them when they are playing like crap.

That's not Fox's fault though. That's the stadium people, so it fall more in CONMEBOL/CONCACAF.

Yep. The CBS, ESPN, NBC & NFL Network broadcasts are all better than FOX.

How does that work then? Does ESPN have control of their feed and Fox doesn't?

Neither has control of the feed. The tournament organizers hire a production company to produce a global feed. It just turns out that the global feed for the Euros is infinitely better than that of Copa.
