At some point, not sure when, that very development along with other sketchy areas near Jefferson and Highland are going to adversely affect those nice Hoo Shoo Too neighborhoods, a la Carriagewood Estates.

How big is it?

And let's not be so dramatic. They already have a section 8 on old Jefferson and highland. Property value seems to be doing just fine. I'm sure the area can sustain a few less fortunates without going to crap.

Look at South Harrell's Ferry area and White Oak Landing and neighboring Shenandoah. Residents were furious about St. Jean being built in mid 90's. The aforementioned areas are all a shell of their former selves.

Pretty sure the only trend you're worried about is the number of pages you can bleed out of this troll thread for Internet ego purposes. So have fun with that.

My only argument is that OP says "starting". Starting to become a crap hole began with white flight.

Louisiana. Develop, develop, develop. Then force the infrastructure to catch up. Not too many instances of infrastructure foresight around these parts.

Spot on. It never ceases to amaze me that there is zero infrastructure planning/improvements made prior to development in this state.

I would like to honestly know where in Prairieville you were driving that gave you the idea, "wow, this place is a crap hole". Please be specific.

hold on now... look i'm a Dutchtown resident and proud to be one, but there are places spots that are pretty run down... prairieville is not a shite hole at all, but there are spots in AP that are less than spectacular... gonzales, while improved a lot, isn't exactly a sight to behold either....

Economic downturn. The whole state is going downhill.

Truth is, it's happening all over the country. It's a big reason why Trump is resonating.

But back to the point, there are pockets of Prairieville/Geismar that are desirable and have good schools.
