Didn't notice the thread until now. Speed is not a factor. Low-tier broadband is more than enough (e.g. 5mbps, maybe even less). The most important thing is latency. You could have a gigabit connection, but if your average ping to [insert gaming server] is 200ms, you're gonna have a bad time. Your local cable provider is going to be your ideal ISP, unless you're lucky enough to have a fiber-to-the-premises alternative.

All of what Ilike said. Gaming, contrary to popular belief, doesn't require a substantial amount of bandwidth. More importantly, you need a very stable and reliable connection.

Good stuff. I'm in Geismar now and it looks like I can just choose between Eatel fiber or one of the Cox packages. Any recommendation?
